Sweet, it's nice to see DOOM and all the major emulators on there.

Toronto Sun doing a bit of SEO, I see. They managed to somehow work the keywords "Gaming" and "Mom" into an article that will hit during the big mother's day news cycle.

Sould give that writer a promotion. Doesn't stop the article from being worthless, but it wasn't written for human eyes anyway.

I hate these corporate blogs. They never read anything negative? They haven't seen all the blog posts about the rumored PSP Go!? Care to comment?

No of course they haven't because the "Community Manager" job in a marketing division is to package the corporate press releases in a more friendly manner for the masses to consume.

Sony isn't the only offender here, either. They are all equally worthless: Major Nelson, Capcom Unity, Sony.

I...

Do you know why XBLA games have not been pirated? (I am seriously curious).

One exception to your statement about digital distribution is iPhone Apps, which have been pirated.

On the other hand, if its true that this new HEN exploit for PSP 3000 actually works on kernel mode, then the PSP Go! might be screwed.

Imagine if the new hardware is going to go on sale in the fall. That would mean that Sony has already settled the final design of the motherboard. If they went with the tried and tested PSP 3000 security for the new system and then it is hacked between now and release, the GO! might be very easy to hack indeed.

Technically, this is true. But, sources at 1up, Kotaku, Destructoid, and PSP World have all said the thing is coming.

all the sources say that it will have the following:
-No UMD drive
-flip out controls
-no second analog
-On-board storage of 8 or 16 GB
-Downloadable games only

So I would say that we know quite a lot. Sony might even issue a pre-emptive press release before E3 since the cat is already out of the bag so to spea...

This article may soon be inaccurate, because over the weekend it was rumored that hackers got homebrew running on the PSP 3000 in kernel mode.

So, it seems that yes, the PSP Go! or whatever will eventually fall to the efforts of hackers.

What?? I think these screenshots look terrible! Sony needs to find a way to implement Anti-aliasing in the PSP, it would make a world of difference.

LOL and meanwhile Sony is giving away consoles for free and only charging $5 for PSN games.

Interesting argument. But Microsoft must have tons of smart marketing people measuring how many units sold, etc. So maybe they actually ARE selling a good number of games at 1200 to make it more profitable.

I'm amazed that they can even think of charging $15 for something like Outrun in the current economic climate. That game is totally not worth 1200 points, and it is still not as bad as Lode Runner!

What kind of a name is "The Gamer Access"?

It makes absolutely no sense, much like the content on their website. My guess is that the entire thing is run by 14 year olds.

I played the demo and I agree that comparisons to Mercenaries 2 are accurate. I still think this game could be fun in later levels if there are some imaginative environments. If it's all the same outdoor mars landscape with little destructible huts, then I think the overall game would get boring in about 30 minutes.

This article is useful because there is SOOOOO much speculation running around about the PSP 2.

I have my own theory, which is that Sony will abandon the psp platform altogether and go for a much smaller, more compact digital download only phone. Essentially a Sony/Ericsson branded iPhone with multimedia and casual gaming functionality.

It's not about being liberal or conservative, it's about being a human, and respecting all of those who died in this stupid battle -- on both sides.

I think the US is the ONLY place Konami expects to sell this game. The rest of the world knows the Iraq war was a complete disaster and waste of human life.

A really well-put article, and it explains why Konami shouldn't associate their name with this video game.

There should be a way to BAN sites that spam N4G with too much useless crap. There are many crappy blogs that have popped up recently and are responsible for the majority of these useless posts.

Really fascinating article, and makes me want to play this game even more!

Seriously, if they don't screw up the enemy AI and they add a few new twists to the standard gameplay, this could be an awesome sequel.

The difference between the Xbox 360 and the Wii is that the Wii has such a pathetic amount of storage capacity, many people filled it up quickly.

If Microsoft let everybody attach any hard drive they wanted to the console, sure DLC sales would probably rise. But not as dramatically as they will on the Wii.
