I actually think voice commands are appropriate for an RTS, since they actually enhance the game experience. It's a much quicker way to execute multiple commands that would take a while to set up with a controller. Instead of scanning across large maps to locate and select units, then locating their destination/target, you can say something like "Unit a plus unit b attack Delta" and you're in motion.
This ME3 implementation is a novelty, but ultimately less...
Who the hell said anything about this being a Sony vs MS thing, you nut? Are you that foaming-at-the-mouth for your console developer that my response brought on that torrent of rabid fanboy vitriol?
And what's to be happy for gamers about? The reason this article exists is that gamers are crapping all over the Kinect implementation in ME3 that does little-to-nothing to enhance the experience, and could've been done easily with a microphone. To be completely honest, i...
Just take your check and be quiet.
Can I get an "Oh my ****ing god, this is gonna be so *** ****ed awesome, I can't ****ing wait!!!!!" ?
No? Ok, nevermind.
Ever hear of Socom for the PS2? It can be done with a microphone. I do it on my phone every day. The Kinect mic is not necessary to do that, and that's not pure speculation.
Both.
I'm resisting the temptation to subscribe. I really don't have the time to play all the games I buy and Gamefly, I don't need reasons to buy more... Cloud storage though, and background update download... on top of the discounts... It's rough.

I don't think it'll do too much for Kinect, but I do think it's a great snag for the 360.
@ArBilly
Ding ding! We have a winner. Exactly, people don't want to use new methods of control to do what they could all along, only more clumsily. Kinect is proving that it is as limited in terms of gaming as skeptics have suggested since its announcement.
DCUO doesn't let PC and PS3 play together. I have no clue why, but it doesn't. FFXI lets you do it, as does Portal 2. More games need cross-platform functionality. FFXI brought together PS2, PC, and 360 gamers from the US, Europe, and Japan. Maybe Australia too... Now THAT is what I call building an online community.
I'll tell you why. Because somehow it usually winds up going public when MS pulls out their bribe bag for exclusive content or game exclusivity, timed or otherwise. This is known as a tactic of theirs. The fact that Sony has exclusive content now though, doesn't automatically suggest that they're doing the same thing. That's a giant assumption, and the first reason I disagree. I can't recall a single time hearing that they pulled out the old money bags to rob the other gu...
Hello teenage boy from middle America.
The dollar sign in Sony doesn't work the same way dude, they aren't quite the industry bullies that their competition are when it comes to use of the wallets. That's why you never saw it (mis)used before today. It's also why you don't read stories about devs taking Sony money in turn for exclusivity, or to abandon exclusivity. Not their style. But whatever helps you sleep in your Master Chief PJs at night.
No mercy anymore, bubs down to everyone who doesn't read the damn article but decides to comment as if they know it all anyway.
Perfectly said. Not that you need it, but have a bubble.
Yeah, I don't like the idea of people inviting me to chats randomly since they can do it from anywhere, as I'm one of those people who doesn't like to offend anyone by repeatedly turning them down... but will. I'd be happy for people who really want it, but it'd be a little annoying for me.
That said, I don't think it's going to happen if it hasn't by now. If they haven't already, Sony will begin working on their next console soon, I'd ...
It's waaay to early to criticize the lack of a robust library for a system that has a half year to even come out. With only the announced games so far, Vita seems to have more games going for it than 3DS as is, which says good things for its potential release lineup. And the games shown for it are very strong looking for the most part.
I agree about the lack of PS3 stuff, nothing new was announced, and the new stuff shown of the titles we already knew about was a bit lack...
I predict that we will find out in a few hours.
Or Socom. 1.
I've absolutely had it with Ubi. How many more Assassin's Creed games will we see this generation? Is it really not possible to get this title out the door before this generation's lifecycle is over? I'm just disgusted by this.
