@ozstar
Yeah, but you can't tote a PS3 around on the road, can you?

I'm sorry, do you have an actual point to make, or are you just trying to throw me in the middle of a nonsensical and semantic debate? Are you suggesting that people who own a PS3 already have their portable gaming needs satisfied, because they have AAA titles to play at home?

Thanks Dwight =)

I hear you on those concerns. I don't think PSN will ever be quite as open to random devs as IoS or Android are, but I can definitely see some of the types of software you're talking about making it Vita-side. As you said, it might be a good thing for all, with people getting their casual fix on there, and being able to play the AAA titles as well... But it could present an odd array of titles. I won't be buying one, as it portable gaming doesn't suit my lifestyle, but I'm...

Apparently all the developers out there are limited in their creative thinking as well?

Every time I read a comment like that, it makes me wonder of the people talking about these elusive awesome uses that Kinect isn't being used for have any ideas themselves, or are just sold on a concept. That's not an insult by the way, I was the same exact way with the Eyetoy on PS2. The idea of it was great, it presented so many unique possibilities, and then... Nothing. When I ...

One does 3D, the other does everything else.

Fixed it for you.

While it wasn't quite the DS library, there certainly wasn't a lack of games on the PSP.

Let's also not forget, Nintendo was the only dog for a very long time. Sony is the only competitor that managed to compete in the handheld market, and did pretty damned well considering what it was up against. Just as Nintendo carried a...

Yup, that's it. That's not to say that just because it's pinned down to a reason that the reason is minor or easy to get around. To say "if not for some roadblocks there would be nothing in the way" is the same as saying if I was good at this game I wouldn't be bad at it.

I'm not at all saying I don't think MS will ever budge on their stance on the deal, it's just that this isn't the first case of them not budging this console gen. It...

Color me excited. I'm all for multi-platform online gaming. I also prefer shooters in the 3rd person most of the time. Bring it on!

Can bycicles compete in a world of motorcycles? They serve different purposes, and are appropriate in different situations. There will be some crossover in both directions, and both will do very well.

Microsoft also did cross platform with FFXI. PS2, PC, 360.

It's hard to say exactly why they are against it in most cases. While I think that the situation you propose is not one that MS or Sony would like to see, it assumes that Valve could just make that happen once they are connecting with other services. If games that are sold on XBL or PSN were ever made available on Steam or vice versa, it would be because Sony or MS made and approved of the deal. Which means, it wo...

Agreed on all points. To be honest, when I opened this I was actually expecting a clever angle on the benefits of keeping online play within one service that I haven't thought of, but that was far from the case. It ignores all the benefits of cross-platform connectivity, and proposes that because of one potential benefit of a closed platform (which is not at all the case actually), the decision is a smart one. It really is a hollow article, and I'm embarrassed that I was roped in by t...

I just realized something:
Catwoman is going to get her own game if her game-play presence in here is well received.

And then I realized something else:
That could be really cool.

"Why wouldn't it?"
Read the article. Or one of the dozens just like it (only without deceptive titles) that were submitted in the past couple of days. Enlightenment is a mouse click away.

Yes, every shooter is tied in with an MMO, that's a great point you bring up.

Yeah... This question was answered and explained before the article was written, the title just exists to rope people in. No new developments here folks, move along.

Yeah, that's what I had meant to say when I mentioned the avatar showing haha. Agreed, all that's missing is notifications.

Wow, it is simply a replica of the mobile site, only with an ad at the bottom. I'll just keep the mobile site linked on my home screen.

5372d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Using the mobile site right now, not bad at all. It'd be nice to have your avatar show somewhere to show one is logged, but that isn't much of a deal I guess. I'm more concerned by the fact that our custom tags aren't showing. Great start though. Guess I'l check out the app and compare.
