The 3D system works through the combination of a high refresh display and special shutter glasses, which is completely different from the polarized image technique used in the "Real3D" technology most theatres used to project Avatar in 3D. The shutter 3D technique employs a high refresh display flashing images in rapid sequence while the shutter glasses alternately block light to each eye in time with the display, thus creating the 3D effect. The shutter technology in the glasses, w...

From the sounds of the technical improvements and other changes this is the game that many wanted Halo 3 to be. Some people will still b!tch, however.

The first thing I noticed is that the textures in DI just don't hold a candle to what I saw in the GoW3 demo. I mean, the graphics aren't bad, but they just don't have the polish of GoW.

That said, the game, while obviously derivative, was still fun. I definitely will buy this game, but it feels like an appetizer to the main course of GoW3 in March.

Ah, I don't understand why the 360 version of the game is not AA. What about the technically "free" 4x FSAA capabilities of the 10 MB eDRAM?

Anyway, this is great news for PS3 gamers. Hopefully this technique will catch on with other studios.

It's a shower scene between Elena and Chloe that got cut at the last minute.

Seriously, I hope/think it's going to be some amazing new MP maps.

Which tower is that? The one next to the domed church? It can be climbed, but you have to maneuver around the tower to to find the next hand-hold.

I find the free-running mode somewhat frustrating. Ezio will run and jump like nobody's business, but when he encounters a ledge it takes what seems like an eternity for him to climb up. What the hell is he doing? Contemplating the universe? Thinking about Leonardo's beard?

The most obvious improvement besides improved texture resolution is the absolutely silky smooth frame rate. Areas that exhibited some level of screen tearing now look absolutely flawless.

$40 is fantastic value for two games remastered in HD that still sell for $20 each.

Hopefully Shadow of the Colossus is next for the remastering treatment.

Clearly players need to stop pointing the head of Medusa directly at their television screens.

"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Activision Games Inc."

Um, what? Unless Activision is the author of the video in question I don't see how they can claim copyright. The Copyright Right Act clearly delineates a right to use copyrighted material for the purpose of commentary or criticism, commonly referred to as "fair use." If this were not the case absolutely no game reviews could appear on websites, magazines, newspapers or televi...

That's great. Now, how about you try making that comment in English.

Twitter? Facebook? last.fm? A revamped Marketplace?

With the exception of last.fm (great for parties), the rest is pretty yawn-inducing.

Improvements I've noticed from playing the new multi-player demo:

1. Skybox now features moving clouds. Clouds in the first game were simply static images.
2. Explosions are much more visceral and pronounced and the weird mushroom cloud effect is no longer present.
3. Screen tearing and texture pop-in have been eliminated. I've been playing the multi-player demo for hours now -- if the demo is representative of what to expect from the full game -- and haven't experien...

1. In-car AM radio.

2. Performance tuned Ladas.

3. Whores.

I guess that's three things.

I am at a loss to understand why Bungie has not released at least a few screenshots or some generic gameplay video (beyond the paltry trailer-heavy video that was released).

It's frankly a bizarre way to promote a game.

The animated backgrounds and themes are cool, but I absolutely despise the news ticker. First, it's hardly readable. Second, it's annoying. Please, in the next firmware update give me the option to turn the news ticker off.

Bitstreaming over HDMI is a huge plus as well, at least on the PS3 slim which supports this feature.

As for features that were expected but are absent from this update, I say give it time.

The slim model looks to be quite a bit easier to disassemble with a large reduction in the number of parts.

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead.

Cenobia is absolutely right. I had to complete the bus mission twice, because I absolutely failed the first time as I thought you could stay on the bus through the entire mission.

Once I got off the bus the mission became a lot easier. In fact, I went well ahead of the bus on a few occasions and blasted through the obstacles just to make things easier.

Seriously, this came isn't going to be out until nearly 2011? You've got to be kidding me. That's a year and a half away.

Sorry EA, but I'm going to forget all about this game in a week's time while I wait for God of War.

I have a different take on potential lawsuits. I expect you will see at least one suit from some self-righteous conservative or fundamentalist Christian parent concerned that their children (children having a flexible meaning) might "catch teh ghey" because they are being exposed to a gay character and the gay lifestyle.
