The Power Base converter would not work on the Nomad (and the later Genesis models) because of physical limitations, as I understand it.

The Game Gear was essentially a portable Master System, thus the compatibility.

One would think that this would be easy to rectify. Take the disc back, explain the problem and ask for an exchange.

I don't know why people expect geniuses behind the counter when Gamestop pays minimum wage.

I would love to know what city and store that would be. I live in Calgary and it has been impossible to find Wiis anywhere; Futureshop, Bestbuy, Walmart, Zellers, EB Games, etc., etc. I've been offered over $500 for the Wii I bought last Christmas.

I know many people that have spent weeks and weeks and weeks trying to find one, and that was in the middle of summer. Frankly, I don't believe you.

"Shameful" adult movies, but don't get in the way of my Gears of War or Manhunt...

The Iraq war is shameful.

Children in poverty and without adequate health care is shameful.

Stealing Christmas presents is shameful.

Consenting adults engaging in on-screen sex is not shameful.

I don't get it either. I love the game, but I do despise the veil of secrecy that most game studios shroud their projects in, and Naughty Dog was refreshingly open and honest about Uncharted's development. I wish all studios could be this forthcoming.

After all, we are talking about video games and not nuclear weapons secrets here.

Maybe they mean the circle button, [o]. That is the universal back button on the PS3, is it not?

God of War is not a role playing game but an action game, and that is exactly the way I like it. I don't want to fuddle around with the minutia you find in your typical RPG and simply want to the play a game, which God of War does perfectly. Far too many RPGs are bogged down with mind numbing detail that takes you out of the action.

Thankfully, God of War does not make this mistake and knows exactly what it is; an ass kicking action game.

Somebody please explain to me why Sony waited nine months to admit the obvious. And don't tell me that it was all in an effort to "build anticipation" for God of War III.

Anyway, it's too bad that both Barlog and Jaffe are no longer with SCEA. I hope whomever comes along next to shepherd the game is as attentive as they were.

The real question is, why? Why keep the fact that you are working on the next iteration in a series secret? What possible benefit is gained from doing so? You're really only working against yourself attempting to keep a lid on the details that you will inevitably reveal at some point in the future anyway, so why bother?

All the secrecy surround future projects is an illness that game developers picked up from movie studios, and the game studios really derive no benefit from all...

I am sorry Makroyale, but you are confused. You set your TV resolution in the Dashboard and the 360's Ana chip automatically scales the game output to match. A few 360 games "cheat" their way to HD resolutions this way, such as COD 3 and PGR, which are internally rendered at 640P.

The following article describes the technology of the Ana chip and the implications for the PS3:

Yes, I realize that. But if you cannot "Read Full Review" because it happens to be in another language and is really only a small summary, you cannot really read the full review now can you?

Perhaps I am just an idiot, but I see nothing more than four or five bullet points in this "full review."

Thanks anyway.

Anything with Final Fantasy, at least past FF VII. It's the same repetitive scenario, albeit in a new pretty package, with shiny new unskippable cut scenes.

Previous iterations of the game were far more imaginative and interesting.

I've never understood why game/movie/television studios maintain this paranoid level of secrecy surrounding their projects. What difference does it make if people are aware that Starbreeze is working on the next installment of The Darkness, or that SCEA is working on the next chapter in the God of War franchise? Doesn't that build anticipation for the product? Were not talking about North Korean missile secrets here.

I don't get it.

Care to elaborate? Each of the Colossi have individual weaknesses and require particular strategies to beat them.

I thought it was a great game, but I can understand how others might not feel the same way if the theme of the game didn't enchant or captivate them as it did me.

One of the most haunting games I have ever played. The music, environment, characters and story all combine to create a unique experience. I don't think I've ever felt more conflicted playing a game as I have with Colossus. Destroying the magnificent Colossi for my own selfish ends just felt wrong at times.

is they will cost Gamestop money; pre-orders, carrying more copies of obscure titles, lower prices on used games, etc. will all cost money. Gamestop obviously pursues these retail strategies because they make money, and in spite of the fact that their own customers find them distasteful.

We need to remember that these are not gamers selling games, but business people running a business.

The immersive cut scenes in The Darkness are a good example of why rendered cut scenes have had their day. It's the difference between simply playing a part in the story and making the story, and when studios finally realize that cut scenes take away from a game more than they add to it, the game industry will be much the better for it.

God of War 2 was the only game I played in recent memory where I actually enjoyed the story playing out before me.

"NZGamer: Tell us about your cut-scenes and how to they differ from most games.
Patrice: You enter a “memorable moment”, this is like other games, a cinematic. But unlike other games where you'd just put the pad down and wait for it to be over to start playing again. In Assassin's Creed you never lose control of the character. When you start Assassin's Creed, you have 25 hours of game-play in front of you – you'll never stop controlling the main character. Anyone? Or do they mean the game will be released in TIME for the Christmas holidays?

We knew that Assassin's Creed was expected in November. Is this really a surprise or was everyone expecting the game to be pushed back, like I did?
