I don't see how that makes it mainstream. Surely mainstream means that it's accepted by people as a form of entertainment, not that its just popular because of its negative effect on people.
That's not gaming as a whole though is it? People still believe gaming leads to crimes, depression etc. that's hardly the coverage the gaming world needs, and it hasn't changed one bit since the Wii came out. In fact I think it's got worse, now that parents have played a few casual games they believe that their opinion on hardcore gaming actually means something and that their entitled to have a view on it even though they have no idea what they're talking about.

Waiting is definitely the best option, I usually wait until the price drops to below £20. Went into game last week and picked up FF13, Batman AA and inFamous all for £15 each.
I think the only games I'll be buying new this year are Uncharted 3, Batman AC and maybe Battlefield, other than those I'll wait for the prices to drop for other games.
Don't blame consoles, blame the developers. Developers like Crytek chose to go to console for a reason and no they didn't HAVE to dumb down the PC version for consoles.
if DICE can do it with Battlefield, then Crytek have no excuse.

I'd say a lot of people who played KZ2 were put off the series all together because of the controls.
Hopefully we start to see some of the tech that we were seeing before Move was released. So far it's been FPS's and party games, even though they're fun I can get that from the Wii. I want this:

You're obviously looking for an arcade racer which is what Shift 2 is, I don't even know why they're being compared.
I agree prone should just be left out, it would make it more realistic but what advantages will it have to the game? more campers!
BFBC2 worked fine without prone and I think the only reason people complained was because they were used to it being a standard feature in war FPS's.
Well it's also ridiculous that Killzone 3 buyers in the UK don't even get the beta! Surely if they want to sell more copies and get more feedback they should allow more people to play.
Stick with batman please! I liked the dark, gritty feel of arkham asylum, I don't think that would work very well with superman. Maybe spiderman? Don't think I've ever played a decent spiderman game.
Some of the voice acting was pretty good IMO, better than most other games anyway. Stahl and Orlock had the best voice actors by far and Sev was pretty good sometimes. The only thing that annoyed me with the campaign was the voices being out of sync, it's weird how much of a difference that can make. Oh and also Rico is a complete ****, I really hoped that he was going to die.

I find the DS3 analog sticks way more comfortable to be honest, do you honestly think that because the analogs face outwards that they are impossible to use? There's a reason the Playstation controller hasn't changed since the PS1, and it's because everyone is happy with the design.
That doesn't mean they can go ahead and change it to something completely different, the soundtracks in the previous games were probably one of the best things about them. The fact that they changed the song style shows that they don't care about their fans, because I've never heard anyone say they didn't like the soundtracks on the last two.
The fact that the game has custom soundtracks shouldn't be used as an excuse for their epic failure of completely ignoring ...
Just got the game for £10 today along with FF13 and infamous, they're all awesome.
