CoD is a great game for people who don't wanna spend hours learning how to play it, which I think is what made a lot of people quit playing BFBC2 after a few days. Games like BF take a long time to get used to basically, whereas CoD is a pick up and play kinda game.
Also your last sentence made no sense, just because it's not fun to you doesn't mean other people think the same, which obviously they don't.
Cyguration, what BF3 gameplay have you seen that is innovative? Right now it's CoD with better graphics and destructible environments. I agree that BF3 will be a good game but it's just another military shooter and it doesn't seem like it's "moving the entire genre forward".
How do people know IW won't realize what they have been doing wrong and go back to a CoD4 style game, it's pretty unlikely but as of now no one knows anything about Mw3,...
Most FPS's are these days, developers want the CoD fans to give em their money!!
I'm surprised at how many people are saying this. I've played through the campaign 3 times already and I'll definitely be playing through it again. So what if it has a bad story, I've never played an FPS that has a good story but the variety in gameplay in killzone 3 is enough to make up for that.
Multiplayer on the other hand really doesn't do anything for me, it seems really unbalanced and there's none of the teamwork that everyone was talking about. To be ho...
Another military FPS, awesomeeee!!!
/s
Or maybe we should stop buying military shooters all together so developers can make something new and interesting for once? Military FPS's are getting very boring.
Of-course this dlc will sell a lot, but that has nothing to do with whether it's a better game than Killzone 3.
BF3 doesn't exactly seem that innovative either. Just another military shooter, I'm not saying it won't be a great game but you just really contradicted yourself.
And how is it CoDs fault that other game developers are too lazy to innovate themselves. IW bought multiplayer into the mainstream this gen with CoD4, since then developers have been putting multiplayer in their games because they want to please the CoD fans.
Well if it is, hopefully they offer more than just the one car haha
Yeh, the gunplay in Mirror's edge was terrible, I really wish they would have put some stealth levels in. I mean the city is under constant surveillance (on the ground at least)which makes it the perfect setting for a stealthy level. and in the first game we never really got to explore the ground level of the city. Hopefully in the next game (if they make it) they add more stealth elements and less gunplay.
There's still a gap in the market for a game like this, even since Mirror's Edge released, I haven't seen anything like it. If they improved the gunplay and combat (or just got rid of it all together) and changed the art style slightly I think it would do very well.
They could also make it more open world, the first game was very linear, I'd prefer to be able to choose which route I want to take.
@limewax, why would they make a new engine though? Like you said they are already the owners of the best selling franchise, and they did that without making a new engine. As long as people continue to buy Call of Duty games, they won't change a thing, because they obviously don't need too.
Why not get both?
ShadowArchangel, I just don't see how it's fair that not only do they get invisibility and disguise, they also get the best weapons in the game, while medics and engineers have pretty average weapons. I just want the game to feel more balanced and team orientated which is what people keep going on about with this game, to me it's just another FPS geared towards KD ratios.
Yes, but only to the medic and engineer, both those classes suck compared to all the others and they are two of the most important ones. I swear 80% of people on my team are infiltrator or marksman just so they can get some kills for themselves, really pisses me off, and I'm the one who is running around reviving them because I actually want us to win! so annoying!
I actually had a game last night on concourse with a few friends, it was my first time on that map but we managed to win by working together. I still think they need to make the medic and engineer class a little more appealing though, or at least give 'em some decent guns to use.
The multiplayer is getting a bit annoying, it feels way too fast paced. I was hoping for something more similar to BFBC2 especially after all the talk about this being a tactical shooter, I hate to say it but it feels more like CoD..
Also the infiltrator class and sniper class seem to make the multiplayer really unbalanced. No one (apart from me it seems) is using medic or engineer which are more likely to help the team than some sniper worried about his KDR. They need to add more fea...
He was only joking, calm down...
Postman just came but he had no Killzone 3 :(
Oh well I'll definitely have it tomorrow so thats still a day early ! gonna be awesome!!
Well, there is more of a learning curve to BFBC2. Obviously everyone will know the basics but things like piloting the helicopter, best tactics to use, getting used to the huge maps etc.
"as long as you know what recoil is you too can be among the top scores in bc2"
and then you say:
"or is that you don't need any kind of skill whatsoever to get top frag in cod?"
Nice one on contradicting yourself, yo...
