I don't agree that multiplayer is the best aspect of a game, maybe on very rare occasions in games like Battlefield but for the most part single player will provide the best experience. Having said that I would love to be able to be online right now playing Portal 2 and MS:A, BUT I'm glad in a way because PSN being down has given me the chance to complete Resistance and Infamous.

When I try to log in on steam it comes up with a window saying playstation network is under maintenance. If I redeem the code on another steam account that's not linked to my PSN will that be any different?
Edit - Argh I really don't know what to do lol. If I redeem it with a steam account which is linked to my PSN then my PSN friends would show up on Steam (or so I'm told). I guess I'll just wait until PSN is back up just to play it safe.

TBH I think they've told us enough now, even though it did take them a little too long. They've told us that they have shut down PSN for security reasons, that's all I need to know, and to be honest I'd rather them take it down completely than let hackers gain access to it just for the sake of letting people continue playing online for a few days. At least we know now that all of our private information (credit card details) are safe from hackers.
I WANT TO PLAY PORTAL 2 CO OP. I've already completed single player twice and I only got the game yesterday!! Hopefully it's back online in a few hours. I really wish Sony would actually give some info as to what's going on or at least let us know how long it will take.
Even if it is that powerful, Sony and Microsoft are going to bring out their next gen consoles in a few years, leaving Nintendo only a few years in front. Sony and MS will also have the better tech, Nintendo know that their next console has to be at a low price otherwise their target audience simply won't buy it.

Agree with Pandamobile, When I played MAG I never felt like I was battling with any more than 50 people, so to me it's pretty pointless.

Pretty good game, but I'm glad I waited until it went down to £30. The graphics are great and so is the online, but IMO they have ruined the gameplay. It feels like your vehicle is floating in the air and as soon as someone even clips the rear of the vehicle you will spin out. Tbh I'm fine being a British gamer, even though I do understand his points, they don't apply to everyone. I usually wait for a price drop for most of the games I play so the later release date isn't that bad.

I think he might be talking about the initial connecting screen before you could actually start playing. That was my only issue anyway, I never experienced lag or even a disconnection while playing though.
Uncharted 3 sales will be much closer to Gears than the last time around that's for sure. There's already hype surrounding UC3 at the moment and that's just gonna increase when E3 comes around and they reveal the single player. THEN we've got the public beta which will keep people even more hyped!
