Because Nintendo at that time didn't do what they needed to do. They needed to release a new Super Mario or Mario Kart with that expansion pak bundled in. It just didn't move enough units to justify developers supporting it...

Sorry to disappoint you, but there's way too much money in that coffin you guys keep trying to bury them in. No way is it ever going to shut at this point!

Every hardware manufacturer on the planet does revision hardware, Nintendo is one of the few that adds on new features while Sony takes them out! Here's looking at you PS3... But yeah they all do it. It's like people forget that there are always great upgrade programs when these things launch. I think I spent $75 when I traded in my og 3ds for my 3ds XL

I Can almost guarantee that the first game built from the ground up for this system will look way better than the best 3ds titles out right now. The faster cpu, 2x RAM and almost double the VRAM will make it certain.

This is my thoughts exactly! Where were everyone screaming brand confusion over the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s?

Well there was a quote from the Nintendo Direct where it was mentioned improved graphics over the older 3ds model. So now many are trying to confirm or not whether the GPU got a speed bump up as well.

The original 3ds cpu was running at 266mhz and gpu at 133mhz. So Nintendo has been pretty straight forward in the past about liking for their hardware to run in sync with one another. So this is what led many to believe that the gpu is probably a little faster as well. The pica...

I'm sure GameStop will have an excellent trade-in program. I had the original 3ds model and when the 3DS XL launched over here, they gave me $100 toward my purchase. Of course I paid for the system up front, so I could take my new 3ds home to transfer the software over and the took the old 3ds back to GameStop to get my money.

This model will eventually replace the current systems on sale and developers will just make games that support both systems. Nintendo will probably be the primary developer that makes exclusive titles for the more powerful 3ds here and there.

But my guess is that the average developer will make games with both specs in mind but release the games in 1 sku. New 3ds owners will probably just download a day 1 patch to receive the added content and enhancements for the new system ve...

Well they didn't confirm anything about the gpu, but the previous 3ds model cpu was designed to be in sync with the gpu and I believe that they are designed as a SoC. So many are speculating that the gpu may have gotten a clock increase along with the cpu to keep that ballance.

:Faster CPU
:The RAM has doubled
:VRAM is almost double
:Bigger screens
:Custom shell designs for nonXL models
:Better battery life
:Better 3d viewin...

People are so dramatic! Nintendo did not say the hardware is obsolete and developers aren't going to just up and abandoned the cash cow that is the current 3ds model.

Why are people being so thick headed about this? These new models will eventually replace the current systems and the current 3ds' on the market will be compatible with majority of the software in development.

My guess is that Nintendo will develop New 3ds titles and software that is compatible with all models, but receive a added benefit on the more capable hardware.

Nintendo does have new IP and yes they do need to create some new ones. But I don't think that they need to create new IP just for the sake of being able to. Nintendo has a lot of established franchises that are available for new game material.

Sony's biggest problem is that they have a bunch of IP's that no one really cares about the main characters of the games. This is why their SmashBros clone wasn't interesting, because people don't care about Sony c...

When is this game suppose to be coming out? They really need to show real time game play, so gamers can gauge for themselves if this game is just hype or the second coming!

The fact that the employee was distributing the materials to an outside source, gives Nintendo the right to sue. No different than if you were working for a record company and decided to leak a copy of an upcoming album to a friend. You are not the producer, it's not your place to release the product to an outside source.

He worked at Nintendo and probably had a confidentiality agreement in his contract if you knew how these corporation operate! Sony and Microsoft would have done the same thing with one of their high profile games.

I'm simply implying that between all territories, this game should easily become a million selling title. The budget isn't that big for these types of games, which is why the sales expectations are usually pretty low. But 500,000 copies in the states this year would be a pretty good success story for a spin off Zelda title.

The Zelda series has always been much bigger in the west than in Japan. I think in the states a lone this game will probably sell 500,000 copies this year. Nintendo didn't think that FE Awakening would have the numbers it has over here either, but look at what it did in the western markets.

Well many on this site consider Infamous SS to be a major success and it sold 1.5 million. So I guess people like to move the goal post quite a bit when its convenient.

You can't honestly believe that Sony is putting out more 1st party games. Nintendo is supporting 2 consoles right now with software and Sony is taking care of 1.

Listen, now you guys can't go moving the goal post when It comes to what is successful or not. I saw a article on here the other day where people were posting how amazingly success Infamous SS is on PS4. It's sold 1.5 million games so far and was considered one of the big PS4 titles this year. So using that number there were plenty of games on the GC & Wii that were very successful with mature themes.

But you can't also then tell a person to omit specific games b...
