Not to mention that every game wants to be a open world, "western RPG", with multi-player elements and cinematic free running experiences. It does get very old after a while, even the new FF wants to emulate something that is more mainstream in order to gain mass appeal.

I actually don't think EA's relationship was anymore damaged than Nintendo and Square Enix! That was a very public battle that many thought would never be made right afterwards. So if Nintendo and Square can right the past, then so can EA and Nintendo.

Not to mention that they just released Ori last year and probably don't have anything concrete software planned that they would even be thinking of for a Nintendo platform. I'm sure Nintendo wants to focus hard on developers and publishers releasing games in the next year. For all we know maybe the NX is being planned on AMD putting out Finfet gpu's and maybe a slow process for now getting devkits made at a high rate to meet demands.
There are games that were shown or announced at the PS4 reveal that still aren't out yet. Nintendo can't sell a system on hype alone like Sony and get away with it. Every game within the PS4's first 2 years Playstation fans were acting as if they were must have titles.
Nintendo needs straight forward hardware with no nonsense of trying to sell people on supercharged PC b.s. aka Sony. Then try to justify why games aren't running at 1080p 60fps or 1080p period....

What do people think that Nintendo needs to sell for Star Fox to be a success on WiiU? The game doesn't have a big budget and it's pretty much a retelling of the original Star Fox 64. My guess is that anything over a couple hundred thousand copies will greatly be considered profitable for Nintendo.

I just love mathematicians on N4G! So the PS4 has taken like 80% of the 8th gen market share you say. Does that mean there's only 20% left of what the PS4 has currently sold available to these consoles to sell?
Anyone that knows anything about technology knows that not even the Xbone and PS4 run straight PS3/360 ports well without any problems. These systems are designed fundamentally different than the last generation consoles and that's the bulk of why there are performance issues.

It's very easy to say that there are so many boundary pushing games, but it's another thing to actually list them. For almost every game that is out now, there were similar games doing the same thing last generation. Visual fidelity and the amount of on screen interactions are the only things that have increased this generation.
