I have no clue why people like to make it seem like Nintendo's handheld crowd doesn't count... As if every generation it's been nothing but casual gamers buying their handheld devices. If what Nintendo has said in the past is any indication of where they are headed. The NX platform whether it be console or handheld this cycle will report as one continuous platform, just like iOS and Android. Instead of starting from zero each time with a new piece of hardware, the install base of both will be counted as so many NintendoOS devices on the market.
It's a step that a company like Nintendo should have taken ever since the smartphone market revolutionized it...

So you're saying that they can't use dd4 or won't? What if it's using some form of LPddr4 and maybe the cpu is ARM cores instead of x86. There are many options that Nintendo could choose from besides just random outdated PC parts.
Same thing could be said about 95% of PS4 games on the market or coming anytime soon!

All of the current VR devices support some form of motion controls, but I'm sure you probably don't include those as gimmicks. Most of the games on WiiU have a variety of choices how you play the games, but you wouldn't know that because you love complaining about something you don't even own...
So by your great wisdom a PS4.5 will make the NX seem less than because rumors have it being a step up above the original PS4. You say this as though developers are actually going to up an abandon the current install bases of the original systems in favor of these rumored upgrades.(it's actually as if you are counting on this)
Not to mention that not everyone who went out to buy a PS4 is going to run out and buy another PS4 upgrade this soon into the consoles life cycle. ...
See you definitely come across as one of those guys... Sony always bloated their specs on the PS1 and PS2, it's one of the main reasons that most N64 games looked better in 3d. Because the N64 could actually push more polygons that had effects, while Sony liked to quote raw polygon numbers which made no sense. The GC on a consistent basis pushed more polygons than the PS2 and still has one of the most graphically intense games of that generation in Rouge Squadron.
Actually the PS4k is Sony's answer to pushing UHD and having a console that's a little more capable of running VR games. I don't think anyone that already has a PS4 should go around gloating about PS4k like its the second coming! The consensus so far is very divided on how people actually feel about Sony making a move like this.
The Wii was an exception, the DS was an exception and I guess the 3ds was an exception as well! You guys like to put a lot of exceptions out there to try and prove your points.
It was definitely a great and respectable JRPG listing that's for sure. I just hope with FFXV every JRPG doesn't lose what made them great in the first place. I want to feel that each new game is an evolution of the series that its derived from, not a game that is in franchise name alone but resembles something else.
I definitely hear what you are saying and completely agree that Nintendo botched the WiiU hardware tremendously.
But the current rumors of the NX all sound like Nintendo is trying to right their wrongs of what they did with WiiU. Nintendo actually buckled down and threw as much as they could at the WiiU system to support it by themselves. Sure they wouldn't have had to if they had used better hardware in the first place, but of course this is after the fact now.

I can't help but feel like many of these posters on here that start off by saying that "I'm the biggest Nintendo fan, but"... Just reminds me of those very racist people who start off a conversation of "oh my best friend is black or I have an Asian uncle" and then everything after those sentences comes something extremely foul and perverse. But they gave you the exception clause, so that must make it okay for them to say what they are about to say.

SFV goes to show that just because it's on a popular platform doesn't mean it will sell well. Nintendo platforms are clearly propping Capcom up financially and they would be smart to develop some kind of game like this. Absolutely, hire new talent or keep the original Japanese theme. Troy Baker being in everything is just boring! Just as bad as casting someone like Keanu Reeves, or Tom Cruise in a Kung fu movie... If they do voice acting, Link should still remain silent.
Absolutely every anime or Japanese infused movie is ruined by English dubbing. I refuse to watch anything unless it's subtitled, because it never makes the transition to the west with the same amount of character.
