Once again I know N4G allows anything negative as far as Nintendo goes to get approved, but people who compare these situations don't know their history. The DreamCast was a great and successful console with a parent company that had no money and was broke.
The WiiU is a console that failed to capture the fan base of its previous spot holder the Wii, but it's parent company still has tons of cash to try things again many times over. Asking this question when we know n...
Xbox and Playstation don't offer anything over PC!
To bad Factor 5 folded under, the worst mistake they ever made was leaving the Nintendo fold. Talk about such a talented developer gone way to soon...
I actually would love to see this and this is actually the kind of partnership I would like to see from Nintendo and EA. If Nintendo funds the development of an exclusive Rouge Squadron game for the NX, basically taking that burden of cost from EA and getting an exclusive Star Wars game.
They're doing something right, you keep coming back!
If Nintendo actually builds the NX with that Suplimental Processing Unit(SPU) in mind from that patent. It will be the smartest move that any of the companies have made thus far about new hardware. We need the ability to upgrade performance of a platform without having to start from zero every time.
If Nintendo plans for the NX to get a performance upgrade from an external AMD gpu around the time that Sony and Microsoft release PS5 and NextBox. Games could be created in adva...
@AndrewLB: I know that 14nm will be a big improvement, but these chips have been a long time coming now! Gpu's like the gtx 970,980,Radeon Fury X and Nano are just stop gap cards until the new process was up to speed. We still don't have a 14nm gpu out on the market yet, HBM is still crazy expensive and it's not even exactly known which month the first card will release in just yet.
If it releases this year it is 3yrs after not 4!
And it's been such a delay on the new finfet manufacturing process to mature for high-end graphics. That the gpu sector really hasn't moved forward much since these consoles were first released.
Visceral's Star Wars game will probably be one of the few unique games to utilize the license. Every other game will just feel like Stars Wars tacked onto some other existing franchise to call it a new game.
The Arm A52 cores are pretty comparable performance wise to the jaguar cores in both the PS4 and Xbox. The new A72 cores easily surpass the performance of the cpu's in these current consoles. They really didn't set the bar that high on the cpu front at all.
Just seeing everyone's knee-jerk reactions to fake rumors, Nintendo can't afford for things to just leak out. Many of you are so quick to dismiss things before even trying them or knowing fully how it's going to work. So sure I prefer for Nintendo to hype up the new hardware, but I'd much rather they do so when they can fully explain what software will look like and how it benefits from the consoles design.
Nintendo can't do what Sony does and just rattle...
Yuk! This emulator managed to make all of those games look so unappealing...
The problem is going from the Wii, Dolphin HD efforts were a big step up. Coming from the WiiU to CEMU, this looks and sounds hideous. Just like the State Farm commercial!
They should probably wait for the NX then to see if it's backwards compatible. So If I only wanted 2 Sony games but don't want a PS4, that makes it okay to get them by any means necessary?
People should think of software licencing like this, you buy a house you own your house right. But you must also pay taxes on that property for as long as it's in your possession. So is it really completely your property then? Stop paying taxes on your property or do constructi...
I have to tell you guys something, for those of you that have no plans in actually purchasing the software legally or a WiiU to dump it from, you guys are either extremely bold or not that smart to encryption technology.
Quick story, a few years ago this girl at R.I.T a college in my city decided that she would DJ at the radio station to make some extra money. After awhile she started taking the new release cd's and ripping them to her laptop, just basically for her own ...
People should look into how this emulator works before they high five each other. You still need the games and a WiiU to dump the files to your computer. The emulator is more designed for the enthusiasts Nintendo gamer who would like to see what these games would look like with different quality assets.
The rest of you who can't wait to see this take off so you don't have to buy a WiiU to play WiiU games are pretty much considered a pirate. People must look up softwa...
Everything new is a gimmick until the mainstream conforms it into the norm and then it's not. Touchscreens, photo, light and gyro sensors, gps, Bluetooth, wifi all sounded like very nice tech editions in our smart phones in the early years. But now we expect all of these things to be there, because there's a industry standard now of what to expect from a smart device.
To be honest what's going to make or break VR is if the experiences are a full unique view of gam...
I wish people did research before just assuming Nintendo went with an 8cm DVD just for the hell of it. Remember that the PS2 came out first and still to this day is one of the most pirated consoles in gaming history "ever"! 3rd party companies went to both Nintendo and Microsoft about including stiffer encryption and counter piracy measures in place.
This is how the custom Panasonic mini DVD format came into play for the GC. The GC had easily some of the best graphi...
I agree and if Nintendo couldn't cut it in the home console business after the NX. I would much rather they just keep putting out handheld devices and keep all of their games on that instead. The 3ds has been my most played gaming devices in the history of my years in gaming. Such great RPG's and all of their major franchises came to the system anyways so...
But yeah they definitely need to bring back
"Get N or Get Out!" Classic
@LucasRuinedChildhood:
Once again there are numbers to back up what I'm saying, but nothing at all supports your theory. It's just that, pure assumption on your part that company A would do better on company B's hardware. Again ask Sega, Atari and SNK how making 3rd party games is working out for them.
People always like to skew sales to work on their behalf. So Metroid is a horrible selling franchise, but it sold close to 4 million copies for Prime on th...
The problem with people like you are the indecisive way of thinking about business that you have. First you guys say gimmicks is what killed the WiiU and if it had more power to compete, then Nintendo would be in a better position. Now all of these rumors about the NX are sprouting up and you guys can't make up your mind.
Some rumors have the system with a crazy button-less controller and instantly the company is doomed and the console will flop. So then other rumors sur...
