There were still some great RPG's though, if anything the big drawbacks were developers trying to dumb down their games, and on disk/day one DLC.

That is what I like to hear, see this is why I say Horizon is its own IP, they aren't competing with Forza Motorsport or any other racer. I like it when companies do things their own way and don't try and copy or beat anything else.

They haven't lost any hardcore gamer's. They have the most hardcore games coming out this year out of any of the console makers.
This is a patent, it doesn't mean it'll ever see the light of day. It'd be foolish to not think about the future though, options are a great thing and Microsoft keeps delivering tons of great options.
Well if a developer sells itself to a large corporation like EA, bad things are bound to happen. EA only cares about money and tended to make Bioware rush things and the quality suffered.

I highly doubt your paying for anything on Xbox. We get a ton of features that aren't on any other home gaming console. Microsoft is always adding features and the new dashboard is just one of the many things we seem to get on a yearly basis.

Well I can speak personally, but when the next gen consoles are announced from Microsoft and Sony, I'm probably not going to buy anything for current consoles. I think this is why so many developers are releasing these AAA titles so early in 2013, because believe it or not, a large part of the gaming community will take this approach as well.

I'm not sure about a PS4, but Microsoft had official leaked documents. Their last Xbox 360 game looks like its going to be Gears Of War Judgment, which will launch in March of 2013.
