You're last statement is flat out wrong about souls games not being popular because of story. I'd argue that the lore and world building in those games is some of the most interesting and best story telling in all of gaming. And the gameplay elements tie directly into the lore and overarching themes of the games. Yeah they don't spoon feed the player every little plot point. You have to read item descriptions and actually pay attention to the tiny details of the environments and e...
The platform is irrelevant as there are plenty of amazing mobile games out there. It was the fact that they tried to reskin some shitty mobile cash grab game as a Diablo game and then pretend like they have no idea why people are upset. DI was clearly meant to be a microtransaction riddled mess and it's no wonder they were delaying it. If I were them I'd just cancel it entirely with how much bad PR it gave them.
Git gud 😂
I'd be super on board with that but I doubt they would change Diablo that drastically out of fear of losing sales. And we all know how motivated Blizz is by money nowadays 🙄. It would def be cool to see them go back to a D1 like experience where it's actually challenging to get through and the main focus isn't to grind.
I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this. I hate when sequels get made just because a game was successful. Everything about BB is self contained and doesn't need a continuation. I'd rather see FS come up with a new concept then try and force a sequel out of BB.
Makes you look real dumb when there is actual gameplay videos out there of doing more than just delivering packages. Can understand why anyone is still using that to disenfranchise the game at this point.
I would die for a modern day Dark Cloud and/or Legacy of Kain game. Those franchises seriously need to come back.
Jumped back in because they gave the first year annual pass to Forsaken owners for free and I have to admit I am impressed that they started leaning into the RPG mechanics and stats more. And now that I've been away for a while there is a ton of new content I haven't experienced. Learned the hard way that buying Destiny content when it drops is a mistake but it actually does feel like they are finally building it into the game they always wanted it to be.
Wow. They want to give you replayability and you're sitting here bitching about the platinum trophy?
*sighs, shakes head in shame*
@ShadowWolf But they are throwing a wrench in the market. You don't see other stores pointing fingers at Steam and paying for timed exclusivity and they are doing just fine. Epic is clearly doing everything they can to disenfranchise Steam/Valve so where do you think all this negative marketing is coming from? I'm willing to bet 90% of it is coming from the pockets of investors who want to see EGS succeed. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for competition in the market, but Epic is ...
Agreed. Coming straight from D2, it fell totally flat. The RMAH was definitely a fuck up but that wasn't the biggest issue. The art direction and atmosphere took a huge hit. I also feel like the rpg mechanics were totally casualized and lacked the depth that D2 had. Also having the ability to respec at any moment took away the uniqueness of character builds. Not to mention that builds were more gear driven in D3 which ultimately led to RNG having a huge part in which builds were available...
Best way to do it imo. It's great because you end up bypassing industry hype and creating your own hype which, to me, let's me go into it with a more positive, less expectation filled, mentality. Not to mention that they're cheaper, there's tons of gameplay videos so you know what you're buying and by then most of the bugs have been patched out.
It was okay. Getting around the world was really fun with the wall running/grinding and stuff but the combat wasn't anything to write home about. And the writing was absolutely awful. Straight up cringy. Don't think I laughed a single time. Honestly Spiderman took all the best parts from SO's gameplay and also has better writing.
How are people still on about this?
@last_boss Well I was intetested until they completely bastardized the shit out of it. And I feel the same way watching people praise the remake when it looks like straight garbage and is a clear exploitation of people's nostalgia. You know people like me who have been playing FF their entire life have every right to be upset by this. I've been supporting SE since I was old enough to buy video games and since they've essentially ran FF into the ground by forcing in terrible ARPG c...
The only people let down by this are the people that assumed it would be third person because the Witcher was third person.
And idk where the hell you pulled this "FPS culture wants to end the use of third person" but that is hands down the most asinine thing I've read on here. Devs don't have any obligation to you or your preferred perspective. And if they decide that they don't want you to have the "option" to switch perspectives, then tha...
Right there with yah dude. The second they announced it was episodic and they were dropping the turn based gameplay was the second I decided I'm not supporting it. Only reason why people here are drinking the the kool-aid is because it's a ps4 exclusive and we all know how the majority of n4g commenters feel about Sony.
Have you ever even played BotW? Game runs like trash (constantly hitting sub 30 fps) and it has plenty of poor gameplay mechanics. Crafting that becomes irrelevant after you get the armor for that region, terrible weapon durability system, exploration that only rewards you with shrines/korok seeds... I'm no die hard for Bethesda games but those games are leagues ahead of BotW in terms of depth of rpg mechanics and exploration.
Maybe it has to do with how the public reacts to changes during the development cycle. They're probably excited about what they do have to show but don't think it's ready to show off to the world. I honestly don't mind it especially with devs like FS or CDPR. They've both established themselves as studios that put out super high quality games so I have no doubt that when they do show finally show something it will be dope.
I don't get why anyone gives a shit about review sites, especially ones as awful as ign. Their scores are always all over the place. It makes no sense why a brand new IP like Death Stranding, which Kojima clearly took a risk on and put a ton of heart and effort into making a unique experience, gets raked over the coals and ends up with a sub 7 score yet another generic rehash of Pokémon gets above a 9. I get that it's probably a different reviewer and everyone likes different th...
