@fermcr - It's no doubt MS did well in winning the US market, but UK is not a market. UK is just a small part of the overall larger European market which Sony is beating Xbox in. Sony is also beating Xbox in the Japanese market meaning PS3 outsold Xbox in 2 out of 3 of biggest global markets.
@SMGP - I appreciate the metaphor, but this isnt Game 7 of the World Series. Its a video game conference. And in the world of video games, its pretty disappointing that Microsoft is going to be spending more time talking about the conference rather than actually showing us games in the conference itself. 12 hours before the big Xbox show and Sony is still stealing the spotlight. Fantastic marketing strategy by Sony these past few months leading up to E3.
For weeks, all we kept hearing was "wait until May 21st". Now that may 21st is here, the story is being changed to "well, E3 is about games, wait until E3". Xbox fans can disagree but I'll say what everyone is thinking, we want to see next gen Xbox games tomorrow. If MS wanted to save all of their announcements for E3, why are they wasting an opportunity to build up excitement tomorrow? I don't know about everyone else, but I'll be very disappointed if tomorrow...

@ZidaneNL#1 - the Vita isn't getting as much hate as the WiiU right now because no matter how much anyone wants to bash the Vita, the simple fact is the Vita isn't the one getting publicly destroyed by big developers like the WiiU is. Development studios aren't going on record saying the Vita is "crap" like they are saying about the WiiU. @phantomexe - this is a WiiU article. You bringing Sony into the conversation while trying to bash the Vita only proves how bitter you are. The difference between the Vita and WiiU is that EA isnt publicly destroying the Vita and is still developing games for the Vita. As a WiiU fan, you need to be worried about your own system and not be worried about whats going on with Sony or Xbox.
I have both and even though I prefer and spend way more time on the Vita, I still appreciate what the 3DS offers. I agree the 3DS' massive lineup of mascot games like Mario and Pokemon gives off the impression that the 3DS is too "kiddie". But in truth some of those mascot games are very good. However, I would like to see more mature themed games like RE Revelations and Castlevania. And I'm not into strategy RPGs either, which is another genre the 3DS is filled with. I play ...

People forget Sony already has a Skype app on the Vita. Anyway, back to topic....no, Skype is not a killer app. A killer app is a must have exclusive game that cant be played anywhere else, not a free social app that is available on everyones phones, PCs and tablets.
You raise some very valid points. I picked up a Vita at launch and I haven't stopped using it since. I had a few of my friends that shared your point of view and the advice I gave them was simply this. If youre asking if you should pick up the Vita...it's because you already want it. If you didn't have any interest in it, you wouldn't be thinking about it in the first place.

I agree. I let my XBL subscription go after Sony released PSplus and i haven't looked back since. No regrets. I can no longer justify paying for features and services that I can get for free everywhere else. It's just not worth it in my opinion.
