Where do you guys see better animation? The animation in both games looks pretty atrocious actually. But when the dude from UC climbed on the balcony and pulled the bad guy down, the animation was beyond bad.
Click the Youtube video, it's got a 720p version to choose from.
I'm 95% sure these screenshots are from the PC version because previous videos and screenshots of the console version have shown aliasing and blurred textures.
The low-res texture issue (Killzone 2 is a good example) in particular is a problem caused by the small amounts of video memory available on those platforms.
That "piece of trash" has a 91 on Metacritic based on 56 critic reviews, and rightfully so.
Why are you throwing around these ridiculous prices?
60 inch for under $1,000:

If anybody buys a new TV, they'd be stupid not go for a 3D ready one because the price difference vs. 2D sets is fairly small and there's a very good chance 3D will take off.
Is this true? Telling a story just to reveal it was all a dream is completely awful and lazy. I have a hard time believing they'd really go for that kind of "plot".
On topic: Alan Wake runs in 540p with 30 fps. A 3D version would therefore max out at about 380p with 30 fps. That's considerably sub-SD, yee-hah. Why did they cancel the PC version again?
I agree. This actually looks quite a bit smaller than the map in the first game. And Lost Haven was just about the right size (wouldn't want it any smaller to be honest).
What do you mean, "the 3d game standard is 720p"?
For one thing, there is no such standard. A 3d game can have any resolution, even SD.
But what's more, 3D needs twice the processing power. A game that runs at 720p30 in 2D could do maybe 500p30 in 3D.
Pretty much. GPGPU is where it's at. Current graphics cards leave the Cell processor in the dust.
Thousands of dollars, that's hilarious.
My upgrades in the last 4 years: Graphics card for $150.
I just finished Mass Effect 2. In 1200p with 16x AA.
"This generation is technically bound now."
And 720 and PS4 are years away. That's progress in the 21st century, people.
It's so funny how it's always the people who have never played Crysis in their life call it a "mediocre shooter with great visuals".
FYI: Crysis has a 91% rating on Metacritic based on 56 critic reviews.
It was obviously a PS3 owner who gave you the disagree. Why? Well, you may not have heard this yet, but:
The PS3 totally and utterly DESTROYS the 360, and so OF COURSE Crysis 2 will look MUCH better on the PS3. PS3 and 360 could not possibly have the same features, so your statement is TOTALLY WRONG.
PS3 is soooooooooooooo much more advanced. Have you seen Killzone 2? Man, best looking game ever! Those crisp textures, WOW, just WOW! Killzone, I'm telling you, man, Killzone is THE ...
then why is PC gaming still alive? Shouldn't it be dead by now?
Why would I care about the temp? I don't tend to touch my graphics card while its running.
So now upscaled 1080p looks just as good as native 1080p to everyone but the nerdiest techies? Darn it, I never should have made the switch to Blu-ray and stuck with good old DVD.
"I guess Sony wasn't kidding about next Gen not starting until they say so, Lol!"
Except 1080p+ 3D has already been happening for over a year courtesy of nVidia.
@1.1: I'd wager my leather armchair (I don't use an office chair with wheels) is more comfortable than your couch.
According to Steam's April survey, the gaming community uses these operating systems:
~38% Windows XP
~37% Windows 7 (has been gaining quickly, will overtake XP in May)
~23% Windows Vista
