Exaggerate much?

Without the glasses? You'll be waiting at least five years for a half-decent solution that can be viewed from outside a 10 degree sweet spot.

"It seems Crytek has accepted the fact that 3D Gaming is the future"

Hilarious, considering Crysis 1 can be played in 3D no problem.

3D in games will eventually be combined with head-tracking. This will then give you "real" 3D environemnts which update their view as you move your head. This kind of thing is not possible in movies.

Well, this is the only reasonable way to present screenshots on the internet, even if the quality is nowhere near frame sequential 3D.

It is strange though that we haven't seen any advanced DX11 features showcased. Is this so as not to alienate console buyers or is it because there's simply not much to show?

There's an obscure site called "Wikipedia". It has extensive articles on almost any subject, including the Uncanny Valley effect. You might want to check it out.

It's a PhysX list. Heavy Rain PS3 does not use PhysX. So it's not on the list. How hard is that to understand?

5750d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It doesn't mention Heavy Rain for PS3 because the PS3 version uses Havok, not PhysX. And this is a PhysX list. Check Wikipedia for more info.

I have high hopes for Alan Wake, but unfortunately I don't see Heavy Rain coming to PC.

Yup, it looks pretty abysmal on all systems.
The only difference appears to be the contrast. Looking at the very first comparison, the two hotspots on the man's face (forehead and cheek) are blown out to white on both consoles while the PC holds the detail.

No, you're not lucky if you don't get headaches. You're unlucky if you do get them.

About 5% of people have trouble watching 3-D content, so that's certainly a minority. I don't have a link right now, but I'm sure you can Google it.

The loss of visual quality is not true of course because both video streams are full quality and don't reduce the visuals in any way.

Ha, I have an HD DVD player still here along with about 40 movies. But when the format failed I bought a Blu-ray player pretty much right away. "Tough luck," I thought and moved on.

Exactly, it'll always be an option. Just like you can turn the color in your TV down to 0% saturation (black and white) or play those 7.1 movies back in stereo, you will always be able to just display one of the two images and get 2-D instead of 3-D.

Since it's an optional feature, all the haters should just let us have our fun because we're not taking anything away from them. They will always have their 2-D mode.

Exclusives are always meant to move console units. Why do you think they're exclusive to begin with?

But the N4G crowd is obviously wiser than an industry analyst, so keep on flaming folks.

Just take a look at some of the older 3D Mark versions. It doesn't take anywhere near 10 years for games to surpass those benchmarks graphically.

They should have compared at 1080p because that's the resolution most TV sets use. The difference in 1440p is just brutal.

It's not just about processing power. Yeah, going from 60% to 100% sounds impressive, but the memory limitations need to be considered as well. There is only so much you can fit into 500 MB of memory in terms of texture resolution and geometry detail.

5754d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

High-end cards like these would never make it into consoles anyway because they're too expensive to manufacture. And by the time they've become affordable, there's a higher end already.

How many PS3 games are 50 GB? A handful?

And even so, on a 16 Mbit connection it takes you about 7 hours to download. If you order your game online and have it shipped to you, you'll be waiting a lot longer.
