you can only have one weapon skill set active at a time. HOWEVER, the PASSIVE bonuses DO stack. So once you have a favoured weapon, start min/ maxing your toon by picking all the stat boosting skills from different trees.

but you proved your point about paranoid fanboys with your own post quite well. I said "media". These people are gamers and most are just as polarized in their fanboy beliefs as what you see here on N4G. If you ACTUALLY went back to check out his previews, you'd see that he hated the game before it even got off the ground.

And made for the PC and ported? Really? How come everyone who plays the PC game has the opposite opinion? IT PLAYS BETTER WITH A CONTROL...

The first content patch should be out in a week or so - can't wait. The endgame content and PVP are a blast. The comic cut-scenes are cool too.

A.) Being on the PS3

B.) Not being WoW

For a launch day game it's incredible, the basic systems are fun (movement, exploration, COMBAT) and they can always add more content (though there is a tonne there, and the reviewer barely delved into any of it).

Meh to this review anyhow. The public have given a general "meh" to the opinion of "journalists" too, as the game is sold out everywhere.

You summed up my thoughts exactly. I have a hard time coming to N4G lately with DCUO taking up most of my free time.

That's what we're here for after all. GAMES. I think that 90% of N4G has forgotten/ abandoned that for pointless arguments over sales and pixel to pixel screenshot comparisons.

Have fun with that, whoever you are. Got a client to train then some DCUO!

Give them a read. This review is well off the mark. Most MMOs don't come into their own for a year anyhow. It had a great launch and so long as it keeps most of that momentum, we (DCUO players) will be in for a real treat these next few months.

both fixed with a soft reset. All experience - including your friends - is anecdotal to an extent. And WoW had it's "issues"? Really? 4 hour server ques ring a bell? Constant dcing in battlegrounds? Glitched quests and mobs galore? I was there for the beta>vanilla>all the rest. DCUO is totally playable. Some PS3s in certain regions - Australia, Singapore are having connectivity/ crashing issues. That's been the bulk of what has been reported on the forums (I c...

Dedicated line-in cable connection. Wifi gaming might be o.k. for COD, but it's not o.k. for MMOs.

Deepest story? You know that WoW is just a cobbled together mythos made with pieces of Warhammer, when Blizz had licencing issues with WAR material right? Look it up if you don't believe me.

The story is easily the weakest part of WoW. It's appeal lies in it's perfected carrot-on-the-stick system. One of the best business models I've ever seen.

The end game content is highly engaging and varied. Most reviews will be in the 7-9 range, so this isn't a QQ about the score, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the review.

And I love how no one these days recalls what a buggy heap of $hit WoW was at launch. Blizzard has the advantage of most games journalists having no long term memory. And if we're talking about balancing and bugs, how come Cata got near perfect scores? Tol Barad? 3 hour LFD ques? Really? ...

I'd also like to add that having just gotten into end-game instances a day ago... WOW... They did an incredible job with the content. Everything happens at an acceptable, pleasurable pace. At no point do I feel that my progress toward gear, feats and skills is being hindered to extend subscription time. I know that this is the goal of pay to play MMOs, but DCUO camoflagues this fact quite well.

My point is that had the author made it that far into the content, he would h...

This gent has seriously lost the plot. This game has a brilliant combat system and sense of progression that I've never experienced before in 10 years of MMOing.

I don't know how he even reached endgame content to make his review either, as the tokens are given in a fair, but weaned fashion. No way he's done any of the endgame instances.

I'd like another few years of this gen, thanks. We're just getting into console MMOs too, so there's a whole genre that hasn't even developed yet (DCUO is wicked fun). Not to mention that a new gen means new hardware, sky-high development costs and probably an increase in the MSRP of games.

It's not good for the consumer at all. When I want ultra slick, eye-bleeding graphics, I can play on my PC. Average to Good console graphics with enjoyable game-play...

Now if you'll excuse me, the servers are back up after a restart! Peace!

I'll pick these up after I've burned myself out on the game a year down the road, when they're on sale for $30 or less.

And this will be total C rate trash. Not the kind of trash that I usually enjoy - Bulletwitch, for example - but the Vampire Rain sort.

And why release it again ME: 2 and LBP 2? The poor game is condemned to a quick death before even had a chance. Naturally, Jim Sterling will write a review and give it a 10/10 - calling it GOTY.

The others are good, but ultimately irrelevant :) I kid, I kid. All are good games, but DC is really something else for an MMO.

The game is awesome, it deserves this success. Even if you hate the PS3 (this IS N4G after all, and people have opinions :) ), grab it on PC. It's totally worth it. A real break from the point and click fantasy trend of the last 10 years.

Did I mention you can fly, and toss busses and use SUPER-POWERS?!!!

Nuff said.
