$10/ month for all the QQers.
Haven't resubbed yet, so this is a good deal.
Now commence the troll-outcry for it to be $5/ month or free, without micro-transactions. Just free. /sarcasm
I really wish more people understood the costs in constantly maintaining and developing a persistent world.
2010 was the best year in Xbox history. I don't see them repeating that success. Not with their games lineup or outlook. PS3 is only 3 mil or so behind the 360 and that's without a 500 million dollar marketing campaign. A price cut should seal the deal.
EA just picked it up for publishing. At best it will be multi, at worst it will become like Kingdom Under Fire 2 (PS3 with no 360 version talked about anymore) due to the systems closed network and general inhospitable environment for MMOs (FF XI was an abberation, look at Champions, WoW, APB - all canceled).
This is VGC's doing one of their stealth "corrections" now that real numbers have been released. "Yeah, we'll fluff up the numbers in Europe yeah!"
EA wouldn't be such a strong proponent of the PS3 is it wasn't brining in money, which as you can see IT IS.
Please point me to the place in the article where it states that PS3 development has somehow caused the totality of EA's losses for the fiscal year. Where is that statement? Oh, that's right, it doesn't exist. Their losses could have been because of a poor economy, international exchange fees, licencing or legal issues, acquisitions, or whatever. ...
Import if you must!
A little. If it's true.
This is way late to the party.
Keep this up and in a year, DCUO will be one of the best MMOs on the market (it's already pretty great).
Wow, how egocentric of you to assume that there's a "right" way to game and that YOU are the voice of that movement.
I have two houses, two mortgages and a full time job. I don't have the same leiusure hours that I used to in my teens, so yeah I use guides (gasp). Sorry but life takes precedence over gaming. I'm not using hax or cheats, just information, when I need it. No shame in that. I don't want to clock 90 hours into a JRPG/ Action RPG just t...
Grabbed it before there was any North American release, cost me like $150. I also don't like to "miss" anything in RPGs - secrets, treasure and whatnot. I never consulted it for strategy, just an overview of the game as information was quite scarce and most was in a foreign language at the time.
Jesus Christ, the game isn't that hard, it's just punishing if you don't adapt to it's pace.
and yeah, I only died 3-4 times. Not sure how you were playing, but it's not hard to stay alive if you're paying attention. I also played as a Royal, so I had a regenerating magic attack right off the bat.
And ChristianGamer is right. There's not only dark-skinned people in Africa.
The game is only hard if you're some twitchy spaz who plays nothing but floaty FPSes and runs into every room as if he's indestructible.
If you're a cautious, methodical player, you're fine. Soundtrack for DS was pretty epic too, still have it on my playlist.
is that they are systemically and historically so far behind the technological curve, that if another competitor comes along with the same consumer/ family friendly branding, ease of use and slick marketing (see: Apple. MS is trying, but they're just short of the mark) AND trumps them on a technical level (even an Iphone is more powerful than a Wii) things will become a bit more difficult. When you do something, well (the Wii), you open the invitation for others to do one better.

I'm waiting for more games like Heavy Rain or Lost Odyssey. I'll pass on shoving a grenade up someone's as$.
And yes, the fill-rate is the same. Effectively on a small screen, NGP games will LOOK like PS3 games. The devs, Sony, everyone is saying that.
And that's probably a dev kit version (3DS). Retail will have about 64 MB, likely. It's also outputting across 2 screens AND rendering in 3D in some cases. See: Dead Alive, where the performance and graphics take a hit when being rendered in 3D.
3DS stuff will look about as good as mid-late gen PSP titles. That's nothing to scoff at, but it - like much of Nintendo's recent hardware - is far behind the technologically curve with a gimmick (3D in this case) add...
The game has bugs and it won't be for WoW (turn-based MMO disguised as real time vets). Only complete b.s. review I've seen was Giant Bombs.
They threaten the increased $10 sticker price on your new 3DS titles. Is what he means.
If they want to compete, they need only offer their DS style shovelware - Babiez, Bratz, Party Mamas DS, whatever - at a competitive shovelware price.
