Yeah SW: TOR could be good. Only issues I see are that the space combat is a bit crude compared to Eve and it might come out around the same time as GW2 (which I HAVE to play - most anticipated game ever). Too many MMOs coming out in 2011. I hope some of them get pushed back to be honest.

Edit: Here's an incomplete wiki. Atomic, Light and Lightning (three coolest imo) are listed.

They only have six for the beta. Lightning, atomic and a bunch of others will be there for launch.

The meat of this person's argument (the author's) is that he doesn't fancy paying $15/ month. Well tough $hit. Unless you want to play Malbonigi or Perfect World where they charge you micro-transactions through the roof that often add up to more than a one month subscription. I'd rather have a chock-full of content, constantly updated MMO where EVERYTHING can...

And the beauty of a good MMO is that if you're paying $15/ month, that's generally ALL you're paying for games that month. MMOs can be quite economical in this age of $70 brand new titles with an additional $50-100 worth of DLC tacked on (Dragon Age, I'm looking at you - I will NEVER buy a Bioware game day of anymore, I'll wait for the GOTY edition).

I can't stop making alts :) Usually I'm a one or two toon kinda guy too, but the customization and power sets are too fun not to experiment with.

Oh, and any idea where to find the respec trainer? (villain)

How can there be bots in a PS3 MMO? It's a closed system architecture and somehow I doubt that the jailbreaking crowd has much interest in a persistent online game where their connection and usage can be tracked and forced firmware upgrades will be required to play.

Very weak.

I've played the beta since Tuesday and it's awesome. There aren't a lot of typers as it's a console crowd, but if you have a mic you'll meet plenty of live peo...

Playing on a newish Slim and it's frozen a bunch of times as well as had graphical glitches.

This is a common issue too, the official forums have tonnes of complaints. I won't be buying another Ubi HD-remaster anytime soon and it's made me generally wary of these reduxes now. They're not even 1/2 the quality of the God of War/ Sly ones.

I'd recommend checking reviews and particularly forums before making any HD-remaster purchase.

They just need to fix price parity with retail releases on consoles and I'd buy all my console games like that (25% or so lower than retail). Activision can kiss my as$ for asking $30 for a 3 year old game (Prototype). The 2008 Tomb Raider is 14.99 on PSN and that's more reasonable. Some of the games on Live's GOD aren't too badly priced either (then you have Oblivion which is $40 without the addons - F off).

There is still something to be said for collecti...

A gay character would certainly be interesting and politically forward. That's not what you meant though, so keep your insecurities and trolling to yourself please. And if Americans don't like "crappy action games with boring storylines and gay characters", how come Gears is so successful? I haven't seen that much machismo, dull script and testosterone worship since Spartacus (still a good GAME, but suffering all of the faults that you claim to loathe).

Are you using wireless? First rule of MMOing: Ethernet only. Wi-fi - even N - is unpredictable.

Regarding the game itself. There is soooooooooooo much to do. I've never played a beta/ game with such polish and content. I'm pretty sure that it was ready in or around November, but they delayed it to miss Cataclysm's launch and just add more polish.

Can't complain myself. Day one for me.

Amazon still doesn't have the exact date, sadly. Game looks awesome.

MS can collaborate with them. You do see how friendly Activision and MS are these days don't you?

I'm not a Halo fan myself, but there's information to suggest that this is the case.

It's not uncommon for developers to make a game that they don't own the IP for. Castlevania LOS ring a bell? That's just one of many off the top of my head.

Not my pick, but I can see how it will sell a shit-tonne - especially if they put it out in the console space (next gen Xbox).

It makes sense from a financial perspective, they'll get millions in sales just off the franchise name alone and break into a new market.

Best RPG story in years. And that's really what RPGs are about. The game-play was great too. It was the fugly graphics that people couldn't get past - even they were perfectly acceptable if you're into JRPGs, which FF aside, aren't known for their visuals.

but SE has cut their profit forcast by 90%. Yes, I said 90%. Wada is supposed to be doing an address later this afternoon. They're probably shuffling this product to next year as they've already thrown in the towel on profit for this year.

Sure there's something to be said for physical media, but even on consoles there's also the luxury of being able to swap games on the fly and not burn out your DVD/ Blu-ray drive. Generally speaking, games run faster off of a hard-drive than off a disc too.

On the console space, they just need to work on their pricing. Direct2Drive and Steam are great for PCs.

It's not a typical point and click MMO. Once you get used to that you're golden.

I've found that flight characters, while fun, are harder to target with unless you pick a ranged weapon.

You DO realize that of the 40 million + PS3 users, a lot of those people play MMOs and DON'T haunt N4G all day. Most MMO players post here as heavily as Wii fanboys do (not very). This community is a minority, a vocal one, but it can hardly be used to dictate market trends.

Typical idiotic comment from someone who hasn't played the beta. As a long time MMO player, I can safely say that it's one of the most polished, fun games I've played in YEARS. Doesn...

I'm way more excited for DCOU though. It's cool to finally see a real (non-Japanese only, as they have some already) MMORPG. I do hope that they give us a digital download option for the game so that I can just upgrade my beta install and skip heading to the store. I haven't bought a physical copy of an MMO in years.

I'm not lazy, but this is one of those situations where I like DD. It's not healthy to play MMOs in large chunks, so I'd like to play...

Despite people universally hating on it. The game had a mature, political story, heaps of side-questing right from the get go, a very open world. Fran was kick-arse. Balthier had a rather Johnny Deppish swagger. Totally fun stuff.

I'd buy a trophy enabled XII again in a heartbeat.

I don't know why AngryJoe felt the need to do an exposé on what is commonly accepted fact. The interviewer came on a bit strong too. "Everyone feels that the VGAs are just a big joke." "This show appeals to slobbering idiots." Etc.

Not to take sides here, but the vast majority of video-games - well what we call "AAA" at least - are geared toward Western, 15-20 year old males. There is a tremendous amount of misogyny and machismo in v...
