I like Polygon's take on it, the very first gaming console that won't have a single game made for it.
Plays DS and 3DS games; 2DS are inexistent, that's just funny to me.

They tried to impose some unrealistic concepts in their console, got told it was stupid and self-destructive and crawled back.
If they're so in touch with their fans, how could they ditch indies, impose an internet connection to run games you paid for, avoid friends sharing their physical games, impose their lame Kinect, talk more about tv than what a console is actually expected to do at the first reveal!!

I'm a PS fan, but I was still excited about X1 and this gen.
This is the first time we see the two hard core gamer consoles go really head to head at launch.
After a first reveal for both and E3, Sony was shining and X1 was looking baaaad. They said f u to indies, impose at least 1 internet access every 24 hours, the one user one copy thing, impose that Kinect in the price even though much people wouldn't buy it if not.

I don't see what's wrong with promoting your brand and making a few bucks on the way.
They'll launch a new console in 2-3 months, they want rhythm, get the brand out there and they know portable is a good way to get publicity right now.
Spend millions and millions on tv advertisement that will not likely be that seen or get some cash while advertising the brand through a shovelware...
Even the people selling this thing don't care about the system. A friend got told by a Best Buy salesperson that the Wii U was a HD version of the Wii!!
Sony and X1 have a buzz going on that the Wii U has never had, no need to worry.

I agree, I really really liked the visual on PS3 for Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3, but Uncharted still looks better than those and the simulation of Uncharted 3 in CryEngine3, sorry...
Maybe they have the potential to be A, but they did not provide new releases of those franchises yet for Wii U.
As for Bayonetta, I heard it's good but it didn't even work for the PS3/360 crowd, I can't imagine it will for the kids and soccer moms that is the Wii U crowd...I don't get this title on Wii U.
360 got old, going DVD shortened its life and it was released a year before the PS3/Wii.
They stretched it to be on par with PS4 and not make the mistake of Wii U of being under specs'ed.
I agree, Nintendo got a free pass on this one because of its 3DS. They're sleeping at the wheel home console wise and for that they deserved at least a C.
Not really the same thing. PS3 was built for the long haul. The power needed to be managed by 3rd and 1st parties, but it had a chance to beat its rivals graphic wise(which it did).
Wii U was built to ride off the Wii fanbase wave, but the fans said no. Like the Wii, it's a cheap product if we compare it to its current rivals(360 and PS3) and even more with its future ones.
3rd party studios are leaving it to die and 1st party studios didn't get a pac...
Great news, players could be a little 8-bit and would be much better, but that's still a nice feature.
