MS is putting the screws to Sony -- and this shows. The Sony MPAA division really threw the SOE (PS brand) a curve when they demanded that SOE save the MPAA (and RIAA) sales divisions by including BluRay.
Looks like MS concentrated on the games, while Sony was busy spending hundreds of millions of bribe money to its MPAA partners to stop supporting HD-DVD.
In the end, the PS-loyal gamer lost, but the Sony MPAA division got a new DRM-laden movie format started (a...
Classic N4G:
Find something new from MS.
Submit Rubbish opinion-based article about how it is bad.
Troll it until it gets to front-page.
Nonsense.
This is one of my most anticipated titles of 2009.
I'm very happy they decided to *not* do another Marvel game. I think having a "fresh universe" in which to tell the game's stories is a much better option.
I am *very* interested in the "Social Gaming" aspect of Primtime.
Will MS have a "mass games" channel that is based on a "TV-like" programming schedule?
For instance, "PrimeTime: Mass Trivia @ 5:00 with Real Prizes" I **HOPE** they do this. My family and friends would *love* to come over and play a competitive "house vs house" trivia game with real prizes.
I *really* hope MS has this in mind with ...
And, how the fcuk would this then be "late"?
you people *never* stop do you? Its not *late* at all. Yes, people are eager for it -- but that doesnt mean it is "late".
Sheesh.
I think you should simply hope that Resistance 2 is better than the first one.
It has *no* place in this discussion. Gears of War is a high-water-mark in gaming, winning piles of awards and selling exceptionally well.
Resistance? Not so much... kinda "meh" actually.
Oh, I see what you did there.
If by "non existent story" you meant "Game that won awards for character development and story-line" then you are correct.
Otherwise, might I suggest you *play* GoW in order to provide commentary else, you may goto >. Thanks.
Resistence is an "also ran" generic game. It has no place in this discussion.
Want a "big" Multiplayer experience -- go buy Frontlines: Fuel of War -- RIGHT NOW, it has 50 person MP.
That said, anyone who says "Resistence 2 MP is "better" because 60 player vs 10 player MP" is an idiot.
Why? Because you simply need to say **HUXLEY**, which is 120 person MP.
So, then R2 sucks b/c Huxley has 120...
^^^^ Sounds like a cry-baby sony fanboy who is jealous that Halo is an epic Victory for Microsoft.
Piles of Awards? Yep. Piles of Exceptional Reviews? Yep. Piles of Sales? Yep. Piles of fans? Yep. Future success? Yep.
Well, you took the time to comment -- so, clearly you care.
And, if you care about the industry, perhaps the best reviewed and best selling new video-game series of the last 10 years might just be interesting to you?
Or, are you trolling and belong with the other FUD-sters in the >open>zone>?
That is simply terrific news. Old school platformers just dont have enough "umph" to be worthwhile this gen.
Its great to see the ol' run&jump getting a life to be pretty (next gen graphics & LIVE treatement) -- at 1200pts, this is a great option.
Kudos to Xbox LIVE Arcade Staff for getting having such a great _mix_ of titles on Xbox LIVE Arcade... this is Day #1 for me.
You're telling us that it bothered you to pay $3.25 a month?
I cant even get a gallon of gas, or a pint at the pub for $3.25
Xbox LIVE is so damn *CHEAP* -- and the service so exceptional compared to the competition -- I dont even think it is worthy of discussion.
" Maybe add dedicated servers"
It *BLOWS MY MIND* that some know-nothing video-game player thinks that "Maybe add dedicated servers" is some kind of insight at all.
Dont you think that MS *chooses* to build XBL *exactly* the way it is for reasons that you cannot even fathom?
You know, thinking "oh! I know!1! Maybe add dedicated servers!1!" is either useful, insightful or even remotely attached to reality is beyond me....
"ps3's terrific line up"
Clearly you're not paying attention. MS knows it has the core-gamer wrapped-up. The PS3 is handily beaten in that space. Sorry.
MS is going after the casual gamer -- the Wii owner, connected-living room, family "battle for the living room" crowd.
And, expanding the concept of the Console as "entertainment set-top box" -- things like Primtime, Avatars, Netflix and Windows Media Player (IPTV,...
"It all starts with a lump of bird poo. Seriously. All this time, energy, effort and sweat has gone into making Fable II and it starts off with a lump of bird poo."
And I *LOVE* it. A cheeky opening, a sense of HUMOUR. Also, a very clear message: Life isnt about living in castles and riches, nor is this game. If you want that "lifestyle", you'll have to "earn" it.
A very very clever beginning IMO.
Public Service Games are going to be a big deal with 0pt sales on Community Games (made with XNA).
Great news. I cant wait to see what the Halo Mythic is.
New campaign and maps would be most excellent.
"It's like one big dance party! I spent a ton of time just groovin in the public square and talking to people. "
Right. Exactly like the 1000 other 3D Avatar worlds that are populated by misfits. Except, with this one, you'll not have a keyboard.
Great. Sounds like "fun".
"Does anyone still care?"
no. Did anyone (outside of the zealots) care in the first place? 3D avatar worlds are *old and boring* bringing it to a console is a serious "Who Cares?" moment.
Home will be a massive burn out, the lack of PS3's in the world, coupled with the fact that PS3 is frequently sold to play BR movies means that Home will lack a critical mass to make it worthwhile.
Who is going to want to launch a 3D lobby si...
So, is N4G going to just keep printing these viral marketing attempts from Sony?
Enough with these stories.
