The Slim is still sold at a loss. Your 20% cost reduction does not refute the fact that Kaz and Sony themselves say the slim is sold at a loss.
Sony posted a loss in the gaming division this last quarter.
I wont even bother mention life to date losses since that is considered common knowledge.

That is not say they have not had profitable quarters. They have. That price drop is hurting them. If you guys want to help buy more software and accesories.

I think the Sony controller feels cheap and like a toy. It all comes down to preference. When I said the 360 controller is better, I meant better to me. Again, preference.
Hey Bandit, I looked into one of those but I can only use a wired 360 controller with that. As soon as they make one that will work with the wireless 360 controller I will be all over that. Until then, the ps3 is used for exclusives and blu ray watching.

As of 2-2009 1 million 360 owners were using Netflix. That was 7 months ago. That is straight from Netflix. They would know since you have to register the device with them in order to stream.
As someone that owns both and is very familiar with the 1996 era ps3 controller, I have to say that the 360 controller is better with confidence. I play most of my games on the 360 for that reason.
If Sony had evolved that controller I would have been doing most of my gaming on the ps3.
A new controller. As a launch 60gb owner I would want all of the features that were cut from the ps3 in order to bring the price down--SACD playback and BC.
I am still very bitter about having those features cut because the ps3 did not sell as forecasted.
Just think, if the big mouth Sony fanboys had checkbooks to match we would have slims with BC right now.

MS posted a 300+ million quarterly profit in the gaming division effective October 2009.
Life to date is also a loss for MS. The biggest contributor to that life to date loss is the 1 billion+ charge they took to provide a 3 year retroactive warranty for the RROD issue.
I do not think anyone is disputing the quality of Sony's first party games. The discussion has been about Sonys lack of profitability as a whole and the life to date losses in the gaming division. I am sure the shareholders don't really care about Demon Souls at this point. They want profitability. Especially after four straight quarterly losses.

You can consider the sales of every Sony gaming product and studio and you will still have the same 4.7 billion life to date loss. Read the filings filed with the SEC. Sony is a publicly traded company and has to disclose everything.
Consider it this way: If the psp and the other Sony offerings you mentioned DID NOT sell as well as you are suggesting, the loss would be WORSE.
Sonys losses were reported in US dollars. Those numbers are 100% correct. Darkride at least admitted his mistake.

If I had to make a rough guess I would say that the ratio of mature and intelligent members to obnoxious and ignorant types is 10-1. Maybe 7-1. There are alot of bottom feeders here. The only other option is to ignore them.

Hey I bought a 600.00 60gb ps3. If it would have sold as forecasted we would still have BC and SACD playback.
That is my main gripe towards some of these loud mouthed Sony fanboys. So 'loyal' yet did not buy the best ps3 ever made and forced Sony to trim features to bring the price down.
