They work great as media center extenders and with the gift card cost as much as a netlfix Roku box. I may have to bite.

Well then, the ps3 outsold the 360 by about 150k units(in NA) with the new price drop. And that was with a fifty dollar mail in rebate from MS. If what you are suggesting is true, with a 100.00 gift card,then the 360 and ps3 may be neck and neck this holiday. Maybe even get outsold.

I was going to buy the launch Wii Zelda this year..should I not play it on my wii I am buying? I still have my gamecube.
After I get my Wii on Black Friday I am planning on getting this and Call of Duty Modern Warefare Reflex.
I am thinkin that development costs on this were probably around 3-5 million dollars. They at least broke even, and maybe made a small profit.
If it goes up to 100.00 per year and I get exactly what I am getting now? No. I doubt MS will do that. They are walking a fine line with the 50.00 a year retail price. I pay 30.00 (internet shopper).
If anything, I expect it to go down in price at some point. With Sony improving PSN, and with PSN free, I expect it to go free one day as well.
Until then, 30.00 is well worth it to me. And XBL is still the standard. But for how long?

I remember when arcades were still viable in the mid 90's in America. I played a couple of interactive games. One was a boxing game were you had to hold two wired 'gloves' that you could swing to punch and you had to actually duck to duck.

You have to pretty ignorant to think that the Wii has been dethroned. The lead is too much for either Sony or MS to catch up anytime soon.
Nintendo has been exceptionally profitable this gen and surely can use all of that cash to keep the wii cash cow going.
Perhaps making more first party games? Maybe more marketing? More R&D to improve upon the Wii or extend its life? Joint marketing with third partys software publishers? Do we not learn from experience? Ma...
