Ouch and some people thought the port of GTA 4 was bad on the PC. It seems Volition rose to the challenge that is GTA 4 and managed to succeed in making a worse port. Honestly that game looks horrible and the specs for it are shocking. I can see SR2 totally disappearing on the PC, I certainly won't be purchasing it and I doubt it will even be pirated that heavily it looks that crap. However no doubt they will wheel out the "piracy card" to justify low sales.
Most PC gamers are a totally different breed of gamer. Note I am talking about PC ONLY GAMERS. I looked through that list and nothing really excited me, I wouldn't get any of those games for the PC, let's see :-
Gears Of War 2 - erm no thanks, I thought gears 1 was boring as it was
MGS4 - If I want to watch hours of crappy computer animation I will watch a Pixar movie
Battlefield Bad Company - Never been a fan of the battlefield series on the PC why would I want a w...
Yeahhhhh another crappy console game I have no interest in playing whatsoever on the PC. But it will get released on the PC get sod all sales and they will blame piracy. Seriously how much of a hint do PC gamers have to give Capcom.
So basically judging by those specs you need a PC twice as powerful as the consoles to get the same buggy experience. Seriously could these developers get any lazier. Meh if they do a demo I might try it, if they don't then I will get something else.
Nah this time they will just cripple the PC version as well. Not that I am that bothered I found the first Fear boring and not really in a hurry for some more.
Well the guy does have a point, my 8800gts is getting on these days and could do with replacing. However I look at what's out for the PC and what is becoming available and I just can't see the point in slapping £200 on a new graphics card since there is nothing out there that will use it.
But then again nothing on the console impresses me either so it isn't just the PC format having this problem. I mean sure the games look "prettier" but really we are just play...
The footage was recorded using Fraps, so not only was the PC rendering the game it was also recording the footage. I would like to have see the 360 do that ........... oh wait it can't. You clearly know nothing about PC's when fraps records footage it has a clear impact on frame rates.
As for PC developers dropping the PC erm where ? Last time I checked ID are still doing PC games, Crytek are still doing PC games, Blizzard are still doing PC games, Valve are still doing PC gam...
Probably because they can't even get people to pay too play Warhead. I have it and haven't bothered at all with Crysis Wars.
If they get the pricing right I am in. I feel as if I am being left behind on my ageing 2 year old 8800gts. I am tempted by ATI but I always find it's ATI users suffering most with game compatibility problems (GTA 4 being the latest example).
I am really starting to wonder about the state of some people's PC's. I am no expert I have a modest PC with fairly aging tech (Q6600 with 8800gts) and the game ran perfectly fine before the patch and it runs perfectly fine after the patch. I will admit the game is an unoptimised mess and I have my suspicions it is just a recompiled and tidied up 360 knock off. However other than that I have had no problems running the game at all.
ROFL at KZ2 no self respecting PC gamer would go near it simply because the thought of using a joypad to play a FPS makes our skin crawl. If you think PC gamers are going to go "ohhhhh look at da pwetty gwaphics" then you do not understand the PC marketplace.
The only day PC gaming may be in trouble is if Sony and MS ever ditch the god awful joypads which are great for lil platform games or beat em ups but for first person shooters they really need to come up with some...
I think Rockstar have surpassed themselves in producing perhaps the worst port in history. This game looks worse than the console version on a PC that is 2 - 3 times more powerful. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for this travesty of a port.
Not if they don't have a time machine since the game is due for release in 3 days time in the US and 4 days time in Europe.
and the PC version puts them both to shame. It's such a shame the game was complete rubbish really.
If you have a problem with having the disc in the drive whilst playing the game then there is a legal alternative and that is of course Steam.
Games for windows live can be used in windows Xp as well. It is an urban myth that you can only use GFWL with Vista.
As a long time PC gamer ID long lost the "must buy" reputation. I have been burnt with too many of their dull shoddy tech demo's. If they do a demo of the game I will check it out but otherwise I will be spending my money elsewhere. I am not saying ID aren't great programmers, it's just they are crap at producing a game worth playing.
I believe there is already a mod on the PC that removes the cap for PC users. So it can't be that hard for them to remove the cap from the console version.
It's the middle of winter here, if you see the sun feel free to point it out to me because I haven't seen it for days. Besides if I have a choice of downloading legally or having to wade through a group of acne infested brats begging their mommy to buy them Generic Beat em up/slash em up/platform em up 2000 then I will take the digital download route every time.
I don't even need to play the demo to know it's crap. It is made by pandemic that name is synonymous with crap.
