Sounds fine by me. As long as its not obnoxiously linear. Illusions do a lot to help make the journey refreshing. If the story becomes more focused, then I can see why having a linear path (with some room to explore) in the second half, could make sense.
But this is me trying to have an opinion on air. I'll just play the game when it's out.
EA said that?
Didn't they say they don't like to double dip? I believe it was them...because I laughed.
Sigh, I pre-ordered the game at a nice discount but I am in no way picking up the premium service. Bf4 burned me just fine. If the base game maps don't satisfy my thirst, they failed.
Buying a Call of Duty game (at this stage in the game) is equivalent to having zero concern over how it negatively impedes the market and the studios it influences.
This is in no way bonus content. It's a half measure, behind a paywall, only accessible when purchasing a heightened version of a game that's a fragment of the quality it once was.
Neither is necessary, that's correct. The differences lie in how easy it can be to walk away from it. I don't feel like reiterating my point, but to summarize, Netflix is in itself a service that doesn't impede on the quality of the medium itself. It let's you watch a movie, but you don't own that movie. Ps+ however acts as an access, a gateway, to online functionality off of the product (game) that's been purchased. If someone stops paying for Netflix, they stop payin...
Netflix, rather, any subscription won't be a fair comparison unless the comparison is Microsoft's service.
That's because PS+ is a limitation, on an existing physical medium. Online is restricted, to games we physically purchase. That's as if we purchased a movie, only to find out we couldn't watch half of it, because we didn't want to pay for its renewal. Netflix is easier to walk away from than PS+, because PS+ is a leech.

Yay, can't wait to die.
I mean live.
Well die and live. Die and come back to kill, but probably die again.
But when I win.
Heh, it's all worth it.
From the current version of what I just read. And as a fellow Canadian, I agree.
However my only real quarrel with Sony is in regards to the $20 price hike for ps+, because you're correct, most of us only pay for ps+ because online is restricted behind that paywall (thanks Microsoft).
Everything else you listed, while a pain and irritating (though massive points for calling out our pathetic internet provider structure) is easier to manage.
*Nods head in agreement*
You don't say?
This just in. The NX will play games.
Well I'll tell you one reason not to be.
PS+
What really frustrates me is that PS+ is absolutely useless. We're having to pay to gain access to online functionality, when we already pay for our internet, console + games. We're supposed to see perks but what, perks?
As a Canadian, everything has been more expensive for a very long time, but this hike in price isn't even properly adjusted. Sony is flat out charging Canadian's more, just because. A $20 is ridiculous.
Unless I want to ha...
To be fair, when the Canadian dollar was equal/higher, a few years back, we saw zero benefits. Prices didn't reflect the value of the Canadian currency, they remained where they were.
There's only a price change when currency lowers, and then it remains there. It's anti-consumer.
Understandable (irks me as well). I find the solution to that is waiting for the final version that comes out later on (some games do that). Still, a pain though.
By that logic, if Xbox Live was $99, and Sony matched it, you'd be okay with it? The price itself is what's bothering people. Not to mention a lot of people question the actual purpose of PS+
It's essentially useless and only serves to restrict us from having access to online functionality. In case you didn't know...we pay for our internet once. Paying a second time, is and always will be sheer insanity. Up until now we were looking the other way because of ...
Yeah we tend to get shafted. Even when our currency a few years back was equal/greater than the US dollar, we saw literally zero benefits from that. If our currency is worth less, we pay more.
And apparently, we pay double in this case. I'm probably going to pay for an added year subscription, prior to this price hike. And in 1-2 years time when mine runs out, and this price is where it stands or higher, I'm just bowing out.
I'm tired of payi...
In your opinion. *
Pre-ordering isn't a terrible practice, however, it fuels itself on the lack of self control many of its consumers have. Our eyes light up to deals, exclusivity, more content, more explosions, more cool looks, more missions, and when we see that by pre-ordering, we can gain that, well, a lot of people just go for it.
Research, will save you. Even make the negatives become positives. And supporting a studio that pulled a fast one on you once...well there's a saying f...
Well it's already doing better than P.T.
At least Allison Road has been resurrected.
I'm having a blast with NMS. Perhaps it's from me not getting hyped and staying disconnected from the articles related to it leading up to its release. However I understand how some gamers are frustrated with the missing content, so in that respect a refund is appropriate (and clearly so, if they are able to get the refunds in the first place).
Hopefully those who feel slighted, can get their money back. And those who enjoy NMS, can play and watch as content is adde...
