I'm a huge fan of the combat. At this point I've long since accepted that turn based won't be in many games. When it is, it's nice. But, combat like this is a lot of fun.
So we're now in a world where if there's a video game, that has a female, and she's showing any signs of skin.

This has honestly, gotten ridiculous. One of the four main characters is showing his rock hard abs, for the entirety of the game. Where's all the outrage on that?

Yes. Paying for online doesn't benefit the consumer what so ever.
However, free games + discounts on games = subscription. It should be an optional service, like it was on ps3.

I'm a tad curious however on the decision to only give Noctis a costume. That sort of, makes it weird? Sort of feels...incomplete. For instance, if one of the underlining themes is brotherhood, then shouldn't the costumes at least represent that? Each set having 1 for each character?
Only focusing on Noctis comes off as forgetful to that fact.
Anyways, hopefully the other dlc content ...

I personally love ff15. The story just needs to be explained better with the added cut scenes coming our way. And by better, I do mean a lot better.
As for FF13. I can't comment on part 2, since I loathed 13 more than I've ever hated a game before. So when I see Lightning, I just think of how horrendous that game was..and just yeah. I didn't plan to play the following installments.
Don't use "we" to put weight behind your personal dislike for a game.
Great game but the story does suffer in the later stretch. But if they add the right cut scenes, there's potential for them to iron out a lot of the issues. Give a lot more depth where explanation is surely needed. Still, would've been nice for the story to be flawless from day one.. Because even I went from completely absorbed to "wait what happened? What happened to this guy? What happened to this place? You're a what? Where's the gods?"

I'll admit that I'm in love with the game. And I know the story has flaws but man, this article analyses and summarizes the flaws perfectly.
It's actually mind numbing how so much is unexplained or glossed over. And how much better it could have been. While added cut scenes in the future will surely flesh out the questions, it then becomes a question of, how many will they add? Perhaps 20-30 minutes worth? Because honestly, there's a lot of story to be told...
..mix up the amount you do at once. While there's somewhat a lack of originality in the side quests. There are some gems, and the dialogue between the 4 characters + the world makes up for it.
I would hardly call the side quests the worst in recent history.
I personally just got to this chapter myself after having spent a good chunk of time wandering the world. Basically jumped into the story majorly once I was level 35 or so. My first thought on chapter 13. "This is dark. This is different. But I'm bothered by the lack of explanation of events between 10-13."
I will say that, while the second half is dark and beautiful, it feels like some important scenes need to be added in through cinematics. It feels unpolish...
If there's going to be dlc characters. Then the characters should be fleshed out. Have proper scenes, proper dialogue. Almost as if during a NG+, or a NG, the dlc characters, when they are picked up, are meant to be with you, rather than as a clearly plopped in bonus.
That being said. The best balance is a base game that's strong without them. And any who are added, don't compromise the balance.
Ideally speaking.
The story should have been there as a complete package. It's fine to give us free content (obviously, who'd complain about that?) However, it paints the base story with a dark shade when the later half of the game (haven't reached it) is apparently muddied. If the story that's being added, was actually needed to bring depth and clarification to the base game but was missing, rather than extra story to go deeper into an already rich story, ...
Games can't be labelled as a disappointment, if the gamer who's going in, has unrealistic expectations. The trend isn't the decline in video games, but rather, the increase in hype. People are foaming at the mouths for experiences that may not even be in the same ballpark.

Good story, but poorly executed. Something's wrong when I have to look up answers to plot questions because the game skimmed over it or didn't even mention it.
For a game I love and keep sinking hours into, I'm still bothered by how the product was delivered.
