Simple difference would be:
DLC: Paid content that is added into the game. The content purchased is as advertised and permanent. A one time purchase.
MT's/loot boxes: Paid content that gives an idea of what one might receive on a matter of chance. Additionally content that is used and then is gone forever.
It's not complicated. The ESRB simply doesn't care/want to step in. I don't see how they'd have trouble looking...
This makes me happy, finding out this is a thing.
The new label is the most pointless, out of touch example of how irrelevant the ESRB has become. Firstly, the label applies to almost every game that has DLC. Games like the Witcher 3 will be grouped with EA'S Battlefront 2. Thanks ESRB, you really tried your worthless best.
Instead of the ESRB actually showing initiative and stating the obvious - that the loot boxes need to be addressed. Instead of them helping find ways to mitigate the negative consequences loot boxes...
Short Answer: In a sense, yes.
.. Yeah I'm going to say that's a no.
They've entered a bit of a naming conundrum. That said I do enjoy Dice's series.
Yes! :) About time.
WHY ARE WE YELLING?!
I'm game.
I'll make sure to speak them out, loud and proud.
New endings... ugh. How about just making a new game at this point. My excitement continues to dwindle the more it becomes apparent they are making things up on the go. The story will always be subpar. The ending is one of the few things that actually felt good.
*Whistles*
Stop being stupid, stupid.
As do I. Cheers for some awesome experiences!
The publisher has no justifiable argument.
Why is it that smaller studios (generally) provide more bang for the buck than triple A studios as of late? It's because managing costs is as important as the creative collaboration within said studio. The companies we see using the most blatantly disgusting form of microtransactions are reaping the profit margins - thus allowing them to continue being utterly filled with greed. They aren't hurting, they're hurting us.
...
*Yawn* Really taking the initiative eh ESRB, now don't go straining yourself - slapping a label on a box is hard work.
Researches heavily, gets input from historians, designs and creates a game based on those historic principles, information, thus acquiring relatively spot on accuracy - Game is released - get's criticized for portraying that historic accuracy.
Honestly. I hate some people.
I'm exhausted by this title, but when it's finally "done" I'll give it another play through.
@Shmeidi.
Killer used a gun. It's a gun problem. If planes were used to crash into eight + schools within this past year, sure, I'd hold a different outlook on guns. But seeing as how it's always a gun, and not a plane, or the slew of other options you mentioned (which, realistically, are unlikely to be used as easily or effectively by a disgruntled / mentally ill or otherwise - individual) I'd say, yeah, it's a gun problem.
Hmph, still a tad steep. I'll wait and see if others find the price justifiable. I'm looking for (if it's even possible at this point) concrete additions to the story done in a neat way. If this pack gives just that, I'll plunge once more.
