Partially. But the blame starts with the ones making the content. Money and Passion are the two powers that clash in this industry. How much time and effort and soul is put into something in comparison to how much money is being used and can be made as profit. The line that used to be somewhat visible is becoming incredibly hard to see, and the idea of purchasing a game at launch and getting everything is well, gone. We get pieces of the passion and the rest is behind paywalls.

It's simple. Negativity breeds controversy which in turn creates viewership and discussion. The more well thought out, calm discussions from authors are generally viewed by less unless it's a massively popular topic, otherwise, the best way to gain attention is to make a claim or take a stance that will annoy the opposition.
"Dark Times Ahead" is the trigger in this circumstance.
I have no problem with remasters. If you've played it, no harm to you and it gives an option to others to experience what you once did. As for reboots, when the original is being severely changed, it annoys me depending on how its done.

For those of you who buy the game and the season pass (stop buying the darn season pass) I hope you have fun, if not, learn from this lesson.
We here at EA believe in a polite, for the gamer, enthusiastic approach to how we deliver content. We don't do all that hogwash remaster nonsense, and micro transactions? Hah, what are those. Instead we believe that by giving you a game with barely any content, attached with a season pass, that's well, where we put all of the content, you can get the just experience.
Remember folks, it's in the game, well not the game, the season pass.
I wouldn't even consider my decision not to buy the game a boycott. I just flat out have no interest in mediocrity that has the majority of its content behind a paywall.
My decision to not buy the game is in my opinion, common sense. That said, those who do purchase it and enjoy it, then all the power to you, it is after all up to everyones decision. I only feel sorry for those who spend the money and then are angry about it.
