Your dream. My chaos.

Oh my, I'm sure Bethesda never thought this would happen.

I agree with you. I also like that you point out that there should be a difference in price between physical and digital versions of a product. There is absolutely no reason why digital costs the same as physical.

It's becoming an increasingly difficult battle to ensure that there's still some integrity and respect left within the relationship between developers/publishers and the gamers themselves.

We have to defeat one another before we can even get to the ones doing wrong. It's like facing a mob the moment an opinion differs from those around you.

The scariest thing, is knowing we're losing.

Shame, I suppose they have their reasons for why they don't want my money.

Oh well.

I am looking at this objectively and logically. I've come to a different conclusion than you on the matter. It doesn't make me a child. It simply reflects my stance on what's value and what's poor practice.

You point out that they are doing the community a favour by letting us know about the price increase. I don't see it that way. The only reason they spoke up is so they wouldn't be destroyed for when the price is hiked up out of nowhere. The backlash...

It's a subtle problem but a problem that exists. Bethesda is basically rewarding early adopters who pay without knowing what they are getting. Those who wait for the content to be released and then pick up the pass, are being punished with an increased price.

Gamers vary, and how they spend their money is different. Bethesda is stepping on those who generally wait things out, and it's forcing people to jump on board, or jump off ship.

Yes games are unfortunately not $60 anymore. It's $79 in Canada, and in some cases I've seen $89. Throw on some tax and the base game is reaching the triple digits.

Season passes are meant to add additional content, and the consumer can decide if they want it. But what's happening now is a model where, early adopters (those who buy without knowing what they are getting) are being rewarded for that, and those like me who wait and judge the value of what's bein...

Vastly exaggerated?

I'm sorry, but what form of blinders do you have on? This article did absolutely nothing to explain 'why people are exaggerating', in fact it only further proves our point and frustration with the practice and that we are in fact, not blowing things out of proportion, we're seeing it for exactly what this is.

We have gamers saying, "Hey guys, let's thank them for the heads up, they are doing us a big solid. We get...

It did, and everyone warned about what it would do but people kept eating it up, year after year. Now other developers/publishers are having a go at it. It's sad.

Right because we need to be "warned" when they plan to slap us. So our options are, buy now and hope it works out or, tough luck? Some people wait for when the content is known/released before they buy. This is pressuring people to buy before they know what they will actually get or face a price hike because of "ambition."

Yeah, they are so kind and loving.

I honestly hate people who are unable to use their brains.

Yep. Gamers are a double edged sword. We can influence good practices, or support shady and unjust avenues that only increase their profit. The problem is on dedicated fans who can't handle the fact that their latest instalment of a fabled franchise, has less to offer. The game might still be incredibly fun to them, so they say it's okay, but those who look at it carefully will quickly understand the problem that's already well underway in the gaming landscape.

I supported the base game, but they've lost me on continuing to support their practices for the foreseeable future. Season passes are optional, but it's dishonourable to use a bait tactic on fans. All this does is pressure those who wait for the content to be released before dropping their money on the season pass, to now rush out and purchase. It's a hefty hike, and I'm honestly saddened to see this trend continue and worsen.

If I was on the fence before they...

Season passes have become disgusting. The only thing I'm left supporting anymore is a base game that has enough content to justify its worth. Preordering is nonsense so I ignore that, even when there's deals to save 20 percent. Season passes are a pathetic joke, easy money for them and don't pretend it isn't. Sigh, thankfully I'm not in love with mediocrity.

Buy now in hopes of getting good content, or be punished later for waiting.

Flawless system.

Well now this game is officially on my radar.

3765d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah we will find out soon enough how the story holds up. Game mechanics I'm sure will be fine, but if the game feels like something is missing, we will certainly know why.

I'm glad I picked up the game, but online isn't as enjoyable as I imagined it to be. There's just something about how the search for match function, sucks.

I heard it was double the double.

lol Which I suppose will be necessary, to make up for lost time.

Fact: The only thing that will kill Cod, is Cod itself.

And they seem to know how to ride the waves of success pretty well (mind you, they don't sell as much, but still sell a lot).

Every time a game sets itself up to "kill" Call of Duty, it results in failing, and disappointing its fan base by trying to appeal to a larger audience.
