both have simular powered gpus.. if the ps3 was any more powerful then multiplatformers on it would look superior compared to the 360, i dont think the developers would hold back the ps3 if that was the case then even the pc version of the game would be held back.. which clearly doesnt happen pc is always superior.

Doing a handfull of games at 1080 with medium res textures doesnt make a platform true hd.
we'll see when Modern warfare2 comes out, who gets the best version. History surely will repeat itself. Pc version will be superior while being cheaper.

well consoles these days are closer to being pcs then consoles rather.
to think of it they are pc's just based on 3-4yr old hardware now.
Any console game must be developed on pcs and with all the digigal distribution boom on the pc these days developers incur almost no cost on releasing it on the pc.
Think of no packaging costs or royalties to sony or micro, in a way it cuts the middle man out.

though yea i would agree PC + PS3 is the best combo.

i hope you do realise even a USD150 g260 can do above 1080p these days, with everything turned to max on most games.
the same g260 can be used to supercharge any 2 year old pc, lol you'd need 5 ps3's or xbox's to keep up with that kinda power. also remember you wont need to change the g260 till next gen atleast. consoles can only dream to catch up to a 8800gtx.. a g260 at half the ...

consoles are actually more expensive now, due to how much their games cost.
i think many of the people are misguided on the costs of pc gaming.
IMO its actually cheaper then consoles.
These days a good gaming pc can be had for under USD600 and it would wipe the floor with the ps3 and 360 put together.
i have an older gaming rig i made when the ps3 launched. Its never been upgraded after that point in time. its config is core2 duo 2.4ghz, 2gb ram, 8800gtx.

sure at the expense of charging gamers higher prices for low res games.. if that is acceptable by you then sony has acheived its target.
