depends on what you want to run.
if you are playing at 720 you should be fine as you are.. though a 150usd upgrade on the gpu can really prolong the life of the system.
specially once the new ati gpus are out.. things are bound to drop in price.
there are 15million bots out there..
each of them will buy 5 copies of the game.. there is no way the game is flopping lol.
nothing will stop the bots from working overtime to accomplish this.

well they are usually quite close in performance. out doing each other depending on game.
4870X2 was by far the most powerful card out there for a good while. until nvidia came out with the 295GTX.
Though 58XX series should give Ati the lead for a short while until the gt300 series comes out. then again they will be trading blows. its good for us the consumer. 3D gaming wouldnt be where it is today had it not been for companies like these.
agreed no point getting the 295gtx once the gt300 is out
for one thing i think the new cards will have a lot higher memory. so it will be easier for them to handle hi res textures at extreme resolutions.
the 295gtx with its shared memory struggles at resolutions like 2500*1600. i would recommend the g300 processor once its out.
with the competition going on between ati and nvidia prices will be good thats a given.

id say micro & sony are the real winners here, brainwashing the whole lot of you into beliving both these 3yr old pcs actually do full hd lol and whats worse charging you a higher price for low res multiplat games.
lol even most of the first party games are 720 sometimes below that.

well true they can only dream of doing what a pc does.
there is no replacement for the ultimate gaming machine the pc.
when i see console players i feel as if they are on a restricted platform. Nothing happens without micro or sony charging excessively for minor dls or mods.
id get a ps3 but itwould just be laying there taking up space..
no point get a ps3 just for those 1-2 exclusives (that id be interested in) in a year.
there is no way i would get a multiplat game on a ps3 or 360 over even a mid range pc.
Costs too much on consoles (why should i pay micro and sony more for a low res game).
no mod support
no keyboard mouse support
overall inferior experience.

dirt2 should be on my hit list as well.
while you count that 1 game a year on the ps3.
you forget all the multiplatforms pc plays much better (costs cheaper too).
+ all the pc exclusives.

its time the middle men (aka sony and micro are cut out).
they charge alot for their obselete machines + plus the 59usd (75usd if you are outside the usa) pricing for low res games is a rip off.

when crysis 2 comes out i am sure it will run at low/med textures on consoles.. most fps already do.

its sony's marketing which misguides you to beliveing they do true 1080 which is simply not true.
most of their games are below 720 period, for which they charge you a much higher price then the open platform price (pc).

sony charges you 59USD per game thats in the usa
most of the other world its 75USD.
a couple of games a month and it quickly adds up.
so my question why pay these middle men for their inferior quality of games while over priced?
not only that they even restrict you to the way they would like you to play both of them hardly support mods, micro doesnt at all. Sony only supports mods on unreal 3 thats it.
