Never was big into the SF games - or fighting games in general - but I really enjoyed the story!
Yeah, my feelings, too. I wouldn't want to not be able to play all the UMD games I have already. Not to mention the downloaded games on my memory stick, which apparently won't work in the PSP Go.
Not that crazy about the PSP Go's lack of physical media, though. However, a nice perk for those interested.
That's at the price of the PSP-3000 w/ a game, not bad. If I didn't run myself broke buying all the games this fall, I might think about it.
Perhaps I should have mentioned Koudelka, although I never played it myself. I mostly just wanted to focus on SH though. Although I'm always up for trying older RPGs when I have the time. I bet it's hard to come by though.
These "simulations" are getting old, IMO. Still, whatever floats EA's boat. ;)
I don't think I want any more plastic peripherals, myself. I'd lime to try the game though...
I have awesome GameStop employees at my local store, and it doesn't hurt that I know the manager, so that's where I usually get my games. They've showed me games they had in before release before but never sold me one. I don't want to try to get them to break street dates just for me.
Interesting special edition goodies...maybe they went a bit overboard though. ;)
So, it's basically like a L4D/L4D2 mentality, all over again? I say boycott MW2...kidding!
Sometimes expectations are hard to keep in check - we expect a lot more than we actually get. I try not to get too excited about new games, because if I do and it doesn't live up to the standards I set in my mind, I don't enjoy it as much.
Sure, why not? ;) This book is going to be quite fascinating, methinks.
Ditto. Of course, there's also the fact that I'm not a huge sports game fan in the first place...
All this makes me want to go play it again...wonder where it's stored away...
If I was an FPS fan, I'd be all over this.
I do indeed love it when people try to put words in my mouth. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
I did say that I understood the concept that the author of the article was trying to get across, did I not? That concept plagues more games than just Uncharted 2. I can almost guarantee if he wrote the article as a general statement against any game that had such narrative issues, people wouldn't be giving it such a fuss, but oh no, don't name games specifically or the fanbo...
I'll re-post here what I posted on the DualShockers site: While I haven’t played Uncharted 2, I can definitely understand the concept of great dialog, great game play but mediocre story. I’ve seen it in way too many games. Does it mean the game is horrible? No, not at all.
One of the few great games on the N64.
Mario Kart Wii disappointed me, as well. Still a decent game, though, but I agree with your points.
PRobably it's accessability. It appeals to just about every type of gamer out there, from the extreme hardcore to the most casual. No other MMOs have ever done that, no matter how hard they try. I have a feeling Blizzard will hold the top spot for quite a while to come.
