I like variety. That's the main reason I own multiple systems. One just isn't enough for me. Now if you like to stick to one system because it suits your needs as a gamer that's more than fine. But don't be quick to attack others just because they like a system that you don't or aren't very fond of the system that you own. Play what you love and be good to others. We're all gamers here, so why can't we be friends.

Geez finally someone is thinking on a larger scale here. Sure we(gamers who pay attention to gaming news) are all excited for "next-gen" consoles, but the fact is most consumers don't even know what the term "next-gen" even means. Pricing is also crucial here, just because a lot of folks here are willing to shell out $500 for a new system doesn't mean the average person will be willing to do the same.

I will say one thing, Sony was extremely smart ...

The problem is that Nintendo's marketing has been all over the place, most people don't even know it's a brand new system and that needs to change. I also find it so strange that people are more than willing to assume that the PS4 will do incredibly well without even knowing extremely important information like what it's launch price is going to be.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm extremely excited for the PS4 and can't wait to get my hands on it, but...

"Hardcore gamers"

God I've grown to hate that term so much this gen. I consider myself a true gamer, meaning I don't limit myself to a single system. I prefer a wide variety of experiences and owning just a single system just won't give me that.

Sure the PS4 may be enough for you but I need more than that, hence why my systems for this coming gen will be PS4/Wii U/3DS and Vita along with my PC. I get pretty much the best exclusives alon...

I don't get this train of thought though. The only way you won't see them is if you are actively avoiding them.

Their Directs or announcements or whatever they're doing are still going to be livestreamed and are still going to be covered by gaming websites. Sony and Microsoft's conferences are going to be livestreamed as well. If you miss out on their Nintendo Direct or whatever they're going to do, let's be honest, you probably weren't going to w...

It depends on what they show man. I'm excited to see what the Sony and Microsoft show as well, but we all know it will come down to what games they decide to show.

Nintendo may not have their traditional conference but they will still be announcing and showing off games. I have no idea how they plan to schedule or announce their Directs or how long they'll be, or even what exactly they'll announce but don't assume that they have nothing up their sleeves. Don&...

A 2.5D Super Metroid style game on 3DS? It's like you can read my mind bro!

I looked it up, but it seems as if it can only play DS games not 3DS games (not saying that it can't change in the future) so they aren't at a point where they are capable of pirating 3DS games as yet.

And Vita's not really that far off from being hacked either (I give it one or two years). Trust me, hackers always find a way.

3DS was hacked? Like fully hacked? Or was it just some exploit that hasn't really led to anything significant in terms of homebrew applications yet?

Fire Emblem, Ni No Kuni, Luigi's Mansion, Bioshock Infinite etc. have been great to me so far. I've been using most of my time to try and clear my massive backlog of games though so it all pretty much works out in the end for me.

Who the hell writes this crap? It wasn't one failed console that killed Sega as a console maker, it was a string of them. the Saturn, Sega Nomad, the 32X, the Sega CD and The Gamegear didn't do well at all compared to their competitors.

Now I love my Dreamcast (the thing still works to this day as a matter of fact), but comparing it to the Wii U let alone saying that the Wii U will be Nintendo's downfall as a console maker is just plain ridiculous not to mention t...

He never mentioned Xenoblade X. Unless he made an edit or something before I got a chance to read. You should read over that part where you saw it, I really don't see it mentioned there.

I think that Zelda Wii U was just a tech demo back in 2011 to show of what the Wii U was capable of so it's not really representative of what the final Wii U Zelda game will be like. The other games he is talking about have only been announced in name with no actual gameplay shown.

Microsoft has been blowing E3 big time since 2010. Ever since they started focusing on Kinect they're conferences have been extremely boring. Their last 3 conferences were not good at all and most people would agree.

Nintendo hasn't had a mind blowing conference since E3 2010 which was incredible. E3 2011 for Nintendo was good but not too spectacular which it should have been since they were revealing a brand new console. And their E3 2012 was even worse.

I'm worried about how devs will implement it though, the Vita has the standard PS button layout including a second analogue stick but it is missing a few buttons, namely L2,R2,L3 and L4.

Now I'm not saying that there can't be ways to work around this seeing that the Vita has a touch screen and a back touch panel. But devs these days are so damn lazy I don't know if they'll be willing to do things like change up the entire user interface for the sake of re...

Statements like yours make me wish that people will learn to read more than just headlines.

Why are people acting like they're not gonna be there?

They're still gonna be there and they will still be making announcements. As far as how they will be presenting their announcements, I'm not quite sure. But they will be there.

I will wait and see how this all plays out though. Regardless I'm still quite excited t...

They really aren't doing a great job at marketing it at all. Even Nintendo themselves admit this. It was the same with the 3DS when it first launched as most thought it was simply an upgrade to the DS akin to the DSi or DS lite, in other words a regular DS with 3D added.

I have no idea how Nintendo plans to market it now but I hope they do a great job because there are quite a few games I'm looking forward to on Wii U, like Monolith's new game(Xenoblade 2?),Bayon...

They are still gonna be there you know. God I wish some folks could learn to read, (not accusing you of not reading, Nintendo's press release was pretty confusing). Even though it's already been clarified, people are acting as if they're skipping E3 entirely.

Well Nintendo did say this themselves. It just kinda flew over the heads of folks who can only read headlines.

However I will admit, Nintendo could have presented this news in a much better fashion. Even a simple video detailing how they will be going about their E3 business would've been years event. They should know by now how illiterate the internet can be sometimes. A long press release will only be skimmed over and with certain details blown out of proportion by the...
