Having 32GB of RAM doesn't hurt, even if it isn't needed [right now]. Who gives a damn what someone thinks about it? Your life won't end because someone wants more cores and/or RAM.
May not turn out as meaningless as the EyeToy, but having the option to choose it is a wiser move, in my view.

This shouldn't need explaining to you. I'm buying the PS4 this year, and a camera separately (yes, I like it). In the Xbox ONE, the choice isn't there. Consumers prefer choices and not including an accessory leaves options (and a cheaper package).

You've seen the Xbox ONE version? Really? I sure haven't. Plus, the graphical differences between E3 2012 and now isn't any different.
The GameCube actually sold less than the original Xbox (21 million vs 25 million), but the rest of your point makes sense.
Consoles and PCs function very different, though. You can't just compare them like they are one-in-the-same. And this is coming from someone who's rig is beyond twice the power of these machines.

They favored Sony last time as well. It was just a much harder system to code for and the GPU was weaker.

Thus, companies focused more on the 360 in the beginning (this began to shift a bit mid-gen). However, as the exclusives proved, the PS3 was the more powerful machine. We've had extensive analysis' on these devices already, plenty, Digital Foundry included. The conclusion is always the same. The PS4 is ahead. No way to spin it at this point.

There's no guarantee of that. Just because MS tried to get away with something doesn't mean Sony would have followed suit. I hate how they are always compared like they are one-in-the-same. Lest we forget before MS entered this industry, Sony's highest releasing platforms were $299?
