Wow - what a lame article from another "journalist" who just doesn't understand the market.
The article basically says console gaming is dead if favor of smartphones.
The article even says core gamers now prefer gaming on smartphones than consoles.
This core gamer never got that memo. I guess I should have been playing Cut the Rope instead if Deus Ex or Mass Effect.
Good Point :)
Fake, Fake, Fake.
No analog sticks would be suicide.
Personally, I would like the system software to be integrated with the PS Store. I don't want to have to "launch" the store - I just want to see what's there when I turn the system on.
Of course a fast version of the PS Store - not the "NEW" slow and clunky one they have now.
@Captain
You must have deformed hands because my thumbs are in the same position on each hand so the sticks are perfect where they are.
The triggers needs some tweaking though.
Dump the controller? The Dualshock is design greatness. It has fit my hands perfectly ever since the PS1 days. I don't even realize that I have a controller in my hands.
The Dualshock just needs redesigned triggers and a bit stiffer analog sticks.
Of course this is just my opinion and those with large hands I'm sure feel very different than I do about the controller.
To be fair to Xbox only players, what else are they going to buy? It's not like Microsoft actually cares about hardcore gamers anymore.
I say this from a once proud Xbox fan - alas no more.
So a lot of people give the Wii U crap for being under powered and a phone in a box is suppose to be the future?
I'll play The Last of Us instead of this thank you very much. I like the idea of the OUYA but it is not the future.
It drives me nuts when every new piece of hardware is suppose to be the future EXCEPT for anything from the big three.
"That's pretty much the foundation and point of Smash Bros. That is a huge glaring similarity. There are more similarities then just that too. Level design, some fighting mechanic even though PSAS is much more different, the rivals. But basically the whole presentation is lifted right from Smash."
Well you can say that about pretty much every game on the market today. Everybody copies from everybody - get over it.
Unless Microsoft announces some new IPs - they have already lost in my eyes.
I don't care what their hardware does or doesn't do - if we have the same 3 IPs again then I'm not interested. 3rd party titles should be on par to identical so it all comes down to exclusives and Sony's pot is overflowing in that department.
Apps? Where we're going we don't need apps. I have the same apps on every piece of hardware in my entertainment center...
Most people on here don't have a clue how business works and think every company is out to get them - because screwing over their customers is sound business practice.
PS3 backwards compatibility would be great because this gen is HD unlike the last so the PS3 games will look fine on HD TVs.
However, the Cell would need to be included in the PS4 hardware which would raise the price and Sony would be grilled for a high price again.
I would like to see a premium SKU that includes hardware BC for $499 and a standard PS4 w/no BC for $349 - $399.
I don't want to have to stream my games when I have a hard cop...
For me it only needs one thing - a release date :)
If nothing else, Sony has captured the interest of gamers and the games industry in general and has generated a lot of excitement - which is exactly what a teaser should do.
This is great marketing by Sony (assuming this is for PS4). I can't believe I used "great" and "marketing" in the same sentence when referring to Sony :)
It feels like the buzz created by the PS1 back in the day.
The price likely won't be revealed until E3. $399 is the sweet spot so hoping that is true. I'd pay more, but for rapid adoption $399 is a good starting point.
@MidnytRain
It's from Mort on Family Guy when he was with Peter in Joust Training.
Means an erection
I want to believe!
All those above with logical and astute thinking are ruining by buzz that this may be a PS4 announcement.
It's fun to infer and get excited. With all the articles lately about the PS4 it just feels like rolling thunder about to explode.
Feed Me PS4!
I have a raging semi :)
Watch Dogs, Jak 4, Last of Us Enhanced, Rayman Legends, Sept release date :)
