I keep wondering what the hell Nintendo are doing this decade...
I've seen games a lot cheaper on Origin than on Steam several times. Tomb Raider at launch for instance, cost me 10£ less than on Steam, and when you bought the Origin version, it added itself in my Steam library, since it is a Steam game.
While I am no fan of Origin, it is miles ahead of uplay. Uplay is the most frustrating piece of shit service on the internet.
I found Ryse underwhelming to be honest. Looked like a decent game that will get boring very quickly, unless it has an amazing storyline.
It was just the same, but the media did not have the same focus on specs, and the consoles back then didn't have hardware that was easy to compare to PC's, due to the different arcitechtures.
Skyrim is a single player game, this is an mmo. It has to run on tons of servers that cost money, it needs maintenance, it will constantly have content updates. You cannot compare it to Skyrim.
As for games being shut down, EVE Online is doing better than ever, its 10 years old this year. WoW has been going strong for 8+ years aswell.
No, they announced they might considder making a console version for the next next-gen consoles, like PS5.
If they are to remove both the subscription, AND not rely on microtransactions, how will they make money on the game?
THINK
Kojipro are really good at optimizing their games, and they like making minimalistic environments that look beautiful, but save a lot of resources. MGS2 is a perfect example of that.
I guess I am the only one who thought this was great news. I'd rather pay a sub and get all the content, and have the devs focus on adding more gameplay and endgame, rather than cosmetic items and expensive mounts. A sub based game forces the devs to listen to the community and to keep expanding the game.
I love how this comment comes from the executive producer of the single most "stale" racing franchise in gaming.
Games will not be 1080p 60fps this gen either. A few will, but not most. Devs will rather put the extra performance into assets and effects, rather than the extra resolution or frames. Doesn't matter how powerful the consoles are, the devs will use the power for other things anyways.
1080p honestly isnt good enough for even 27" monitors imo...
The Last of US is a masterpiece, and looks amazing to be running on such dated hardware, and yet it is the single biggest proof of how outdated they are. The low res and framerate really stands out in it, and you can really see how the devs have been fighting the hardware when making it.
Meh.. Playing a lot of DayZ, ARMA 2 and ARMA 3 the last year has really proved to me that even 1080p is horrible and grainy. I will be getting a 1440p monitor soon.
That would be the same with Xbox One, as they run an identical CPU, both 8 cores with sub 2ghz clock speeds. That is what the Planetside dev was talking about, the single thread performance on these consoles is pretty bad, due to the low clock speed, that is why they have to make sure to use all the cores, which is something devs have not been very good at before.
My PSP was basically never played on the go. I got it for games I felt I couldn't miss, like MGS Peace walker, which was basically played on my couch. I would've played it on my PS3 if I had the option. (Which I now have)
The new Tomb Raider sold incredibly well aswell.
I thought the ending was fantastic just the way it was. Made me feel all kinds of things that games rarely make me feel.
It wont
