I'm more excited for this one than the PS4 game. But...I'll more than likely get both anyway :).
Yeah. Regardless of the reasons for making the changes, these are changes that people wanted. Should be a reason to be happy.
I was only getting the next gen version. Shouldn't be too much time between current gen and next gen releases for the game. I'd rather just wait.
Some things that I think people need to take into consideration when taking Provinciano's word as gospel:
He obviously has a bad history with Microsoft. He openly states that he has no plans to support or buy an Xbox One. Considering his current relationship with Microsoft, I'd look into his comments as nothing but speculation at this point. Plus, he seems to be the only indie developer to speak at this point as if he has inside information on what this new policy is...
Well, they weren't going to announce this until Gamescon. This leaked when it is possible that all of the details weren't finalized. Call Microsoft slow in getting the message out, sure, but this did get out before they were ready to make it public. It makes sense that they aren't ready to give out all of the info yet. Sadly, recent events still don't make it look any better to most people.
Whitten's own interviews paint a completely different picture than what Provinciano is talking about. It very well could be that this was Microsoft's plan at first, but what they seem to be doing based on interviews and the information we have at the moment seem to not have anything to do with Windows store. He probably has just as much inside info as everyone else (meaning not much at all right now). We'll all know soon enough when they finally give the full details.

Interview with Whitten from Giant Bomb seems to imply something different from what Provinciano says. In the interview, Whitten seems to indicate that there will be no limit ton what developers will have access to, responding "yes" to GB's example of a game made by Rewspawn in relation to an indie developer trying to make a game of the same scope.

At this point, I believe that the best thing to hope for if you aren't a fan of Kinect is that they will make it so that Kinect won't be required for the console to function. I don't see them not including in the box, but not making it a mandatory use is more likely.
It seems like "timed events" is basically normal dead rising style: You have a certain amount of time to do whatever you want before the next event happens that moves the story along. At that point, you've done everything that you needed to do to progress the story, or it is game over. In the case of this game, the world is still free roam either way, but you have to force yourself to stay on task in order to reach certain goals before time runs out.

I found the comic interesting. Felt short, but I can see myself reading the next ones when they come out. I didn't buy it, so I have no complaints.
You raise a valid argument. But, is all that even reasonable for them to do? There are other items that can be used to get information from us (cell phones, computers)that are more ingrained in our culture. Why worry about people spying on us through our game console, when they could jsut as easily and more likely grab info from us through our calls, our emails, and our search habits. Personally, if were worried, I'd be worried about everything else around me, and not so much Xbox. ...
Really excited for the potential of this game.
Let's just say that, for argument's sake, someone really has nothing better to do than watch you through your Kinect. Wouldn't that be hard to do if the Console isn't connected to the internet?
How do you suggest using a real game creator and then also suggest little big planet in the same sentence as if that would be less stupid?

Everything about this game seems outside the box to me. This game seems very different and very fun.
Hopefully the final product looks better than the supposed Xbox One trailer that I saw not too long ago. It looks fun, but looked less than even Xbox 360 quality at the time. Twisted Pixel has done well in the past, so I'm giving them the beneift of the doubt.
