kid: Mom I want a PS4!
Mom: Too bad, you can play all your old Xbox tapes on this new system, its a waste of money.
...yeah that pretty much does it for the average consumer.
I was going to just comment on this and put "lolz"
but Jamal...my man
North America = roughly 50% of the market
If there is one REGION you don't want to be losing, its the one where the most consoles are sold.
Guess who is in last?
I understand that consoles are sold outside of North America but the fact they are almost 50% of all console sales is something fanboys keep trying to downplay.
So 16 million less sales for Sony in the biggest gaming market is sort of a huge deal.
How do you win something by being down 16 million sales in North America to Xbox and the Wii even more...
/facepalm
That might be true, but I think 17 million more sales in North America over Sony, is a pretty big deal.
It would allow you to have your friends list popup, get messages, possibly get OnDemand straight to your Xbox, etc.
It would allow you to always be connected*
*I am not referring to ALWAYS ON restrictions.
I love my GoogleTV so this would an awesome addition to the Xbox.
Can't wait to see the rage when the fanboys biggest selling point on not buying an Xbox is that.
When you are down 17 million sales in North America and people have had an Xbox between 1-8 years, something tells me no one is going to "change sides".
Also please realize I am referring to the average consumer, not you "hyper intelligent experts" on gaming.
Taking anything seriously from the Braid developer is laughable. That guy is an egotistical dickhead, this is the same guy who criticized everyone who commented on reviews of his game.
Then again disagreeing with anything that isn't your opinion and assuming that the other opinion is wrong, must fit in nicely around the n4g crowd.
What do the Sony fanboys whine about next once Microsoft announces and it isn't a feature?
17 million more sales in North America is sort of a big deal, if you think people will jump ship when Microsoft and Sony will incentivize you to migrate your account, you are very ignorant.
Minor graphical improvements, almost identical features, and nothing mind blowing, will not make an average consumer buy a different console.
Unfortunately this...
I am sure this very credible news site and your opinion has sealed that this is fact, and has nothing to do with the fanboys on n4g.
This wasn't real boys...the "argument" you are seeing are between two friends joking around.
Why would Microsoft announce this already controversial feature when everything else is under lock n key.
But by all means exploit something that was already made a farse for traffic, and then let the sony fanboys lose their minds into thinking they "won" something.
FYI - you don't win anything when you end up spending $50...
I bet the writer would love to know that Levine is a right winger.
The fact you are already getting "disagrees" for this, just solidifies the point n4g is forever a biased news site.
Why can't you fanboys who earn nothing for your allegiance just enjoy the fact new stuff is coming even if you aren't purchasing it. I don't see you spamming Google with how stupid their glasses are because Sony didnt make them.
Gameplay is definitely right between Mass Effect and Borderlands. I like it more than Borderlands but less than Mass Effect.
But as both don't offer me an MMO environment, I think Defiance tops them both.
Like I said in the review though, this will only get better with time and patches. Hence why I gave it a 7.9 off that start, because there is potential for great improvements.
thats not dropping in.
Rumors of a delay on a system that has no hard facts other than rumors.
...I guess we are ignoring logic.
That doesn't exactly sound like YOU MUST. I think it is more like a feature, like if you read that in context, it says that you can keep it connected at all times and receive the latest updates, so you are always ready to play.
It doesn't really state that you are forced to be online and it could be a nice feature especially when you put in a disc now and need to receive updates (especially for low-speed internet users) and also not to mention the atrocious PS3 update...
The sales don't lie...thank god "Sony is winning this generation"
I understand you need to support something you payed hundreds of dollars for but come on. I loved my original Xbox and everyone knew it had better graphics, but I didnt go on every message board telling people they were wrong.
