Going to buy it regardless but they'll be shooting themselves in the foot if it's over $299 for the base model. Hell I'd be willing to pay $599 if it was also an Android phone.
They don't overprice things. They cram so much high tech stuff in that the high price is still selling at a loss. Overpriced is $249 for a repackaged Gamecube. Not expensive but way more than it's worth.
Targeting a completely different and new market. I wouldn't even call it part of the games industry. Equivalent to saying Youtube is becoming a major player in the film industry.
Step 1: Log off Second Life and never return.
Well episode 3 should've come out 3 years ago now so it's impossible to know what the hell they're doing. Kinda too late to not use a new engine and at that point it might as well be made into a full Half-Life 3. So maybe 2015? Whatever the case I must own it.
Hiphopgamer and Transformers. Two things I hate in one bad video.
What the hell are you talking about? Nintendo could release a $249 system from stock PC parts that stomps 360/PS3. I hated the Wii most for it's overprice Gamecube rehash hardware (second the lack of games). If Nintendo actually produced a modern console I would be all for it.
And why should I care if a game company is maximizing profits? Nintendo certainly didn't use their insane profits on making more new and innovative games for their fans. As long as they aren...
I fully agree. Nintendo pretty much played it perfectly last gen. Re-sell Gamecube hardware at a higher price with a gimmick. If it fails to get popular they drop the price to $99 and lose very little. Succeed like it did and they rake in billions. Thing is gamers lose out because it can't run any multiplats or produce graphics beyond 2003 technology.
With such a dominating position they owe it to us to take a risk and release a modern piece of technology. I certainly wo...
Are you saying that's a good thing? Reselling overpriced Gamecube hardware with gimmick isn't something that should be congratulated by gamers. Even if you like Nintendo games.
Voice recognition is just a terrible route to go. So much effort is required to make it work for every language and accent. Even if you perfect it, vocal commands is about the least efficient method of controlling something. Just don't see it adding much of anything to any regular type of game. I doubt there's much of a market for creepy video companions.
Nintendo already won this generation financially. Essentially re-sold overpriced Gamecube hardware based on a gimmick controller. It's just sad that everyone fell for it. Nothing but shovelware and oversimplified games. Whole thing has just been a big step backwards for gaming imo. DS at least has a lot of good games and a gimmick that actually adds to gameplay. We'll have to see with 3DS.
Hope it's more like ME1. Much better RPG elements. ME2 was just more like a really good long shooter. Going to play it no matter what though.
Well what do you expect with consoles stuck at 512MB total RAM? 1GB+ graphics and 4-8GB system memory is the PC standard now. Nothing even comes close to fully utilizing even mid-range PC hardware yet.
At the very least Nintendo does. The Wii's hardware was a joke when it came out let alone now. 360/PS3 have at least another year in them but are already holding back PC games and showing their age. 2013 is probably the best year.
Um no. I think the whole idea is that they're a placeholder for the Chinese. Just don't have the balls to come out and say it.
What a sad day
PC retail boxes have been dead for years. Digital download has been cheaper faster and easier for quite awhile now. Only thing I bought retail in the last 3-4 years has been the Starcraft 2 collectors edition. Yet over 100 games bought through Steam, Gamersgate, and D2D. Articles that don't even acknowledge the online distribution sales numbers are worthless. I'm totally certain overall PC game revenue has gone way up.
BTW what is up with D2D lately? They used to be #...
If the Wii was $99 like it should be (based on hardware) and the crap games were cheaper that might make sense. If you can afford a $200 console + $50 games and controllers you have no excuse not to at least have an HD monitor at this point.
What a beast. Wish I had the kind of money to blow on that. Just gonna stick with the $300 range cards that are %80 as good.
Personally I find the Starcraft universe much more fascinating. Problem is the Starcraft story is about massive planetary wars. Doesn't translate well to an MMO with individual characters. Diablo fits much better to the standard MMO format.
I hope it's something new in a Sci-Fi setting. Possibly space/planetary hybrid. Personally got sick of the generic fantasy MMO a long time ago. Everything else has either been not very good or take way too much time investment like...
