i usually dont play shooter type games, but when the beta was released i decided to jump on one and ended up loving the game. pre ordered a few days later and since then have decided to try more of sonys shooter exclusives. im glad GG got me into these games, theyre great
competition is great for the industry, though through clever marketing tactics a platform holder can change the way the industry profits from consumers. if one platform shows that consumers are willing to pay more for something even though they get nothing in return, all platform holders will start taking money from their users in that way, which is bad for consumers.
competition is good when consumers are smart. when consumers show that theyre more then willing to be reamed in the butt companies start reaming them.
@xphear43dx
i still dont think the problem was in the code (i mean seriously, that part of the code has probably been looked at by a lot of people and changed more than its fair share of times, to think no one would catch such a simple mistake when doing this is beyond what i think would happen. but perhaps when people arent looking for a mistake, theyre not going to find a mistake), but im not saying that it wasnt possible, its more likely it was a problem with server infras...
of course exclusives matter, you dont decide which console to buy based on the games that are on both consoles, you decide based on what one console has that the other doesnt.
@spacedelete
what is your definition of dead? you not using it anymore? the world doesnt revolve around you
this is what i want to hear, i hate buying new consoles all the time when my old ones are working just fine
i didnt comment on any of the other possibilities (such as xphearr3dx's) because theyre plausible possibilities which i dont have enough information on to say something definitive about. i do know that microsoft holds their data in very high regards and that a raid array is almost certainly being used by them, which would almost certainly prevent data corruption.
but since you mentioned xphearr3dx's suggestion, ill comment on it: microsoft is a good company, filled wi...
by that logic the wii has been dead for a while also, both have had about the same amount of releases for something like 2 years.
and no, the wii isnt dead, neither is the psp
waiting for my copy to get to me ... :(
why havnt we invented teleporting yet
looking forward to this game
if valve wants to make their own pcs, why not? they have enough money on hand to invest in a valve branded pc. just like dell makes alienware, valve can make their own line of pcs
btw, a pc is implicitly defined as having dynamic hardware, while a console is implicitly defined as having static hardware, its the difference between the two - you cant have a "pc console" thats like saying youre going to listen to a paper book - you cant listen to a paper book, it makes...
server corruption? no way microsoft isnt running some kind of raid array to back everything up, having everything ready to restore at any hint of corruption.
definitely not server corruption unless microsoft is completely incompetent with data, which i very much doubt
its quite obvious that the ps3 has the most to offer
definitely a buy for me, but a year away? dang... long time
dat screen
i just wanted to mention that you can start playing ps1 classic through your ps3 and remote play now, if that floats your boat.
i can understand why you might not want to but its an option available
this is a smart man
how to save tales series in the west? release the damn games outside of japan on platforms that have historically had good sales for them.
seriously, leveling up? whats up with that? i can see games in the future making their game require an over the top amount of grinding just to milk their customers who are willing to pay for levels
it reminds me of those free to play [pay to win] mmos
