And the guy at the counter told me that I wasn't the first. I don't think it's an epidemic or anything, but until Sony starts releasing games to compete with Xbox's current line up, you're gonna get a few (or more...).

This article goes nowhere and says nothing. It links all the way to a random forum thread and some article about how Microsoft would like to recoup expenses over the cost of adding the additional RAM to the 360. There's no source for Chris Berlinsky's supposed claims... which is weird given that a few weeks ago he was praising Epic's and Microsoft's relationship on the 1up podcast (mind you he was criticizing Windows live... like everyone else!).

Especially the first ones out the door. However, I used to work for General Electric tech support, and if you send out surveys like this, you'll only get negatives back, trust me.

A straight 30% failure rate would be totally unacceptable. These things have to be measured in survival curves anyways (What is the death-rate per time used?). Xboxers may play a lot more than other systems (except all those hard-core F@H folders!).

I really hope MS addresses the probl...

If Sony wants my love again they've gotta stop talking and start doing. Start releasing some kickass games, fix the controller cutting out issue and stop touting SIXAXIS until we can actually see what it does. It wouldn't hurt to get a few big companies (Square, Konami for example) to come out and accurately confirm exclusivity for your console.

I've heard so much about potential but I've gotta see results if a company is going to want me to shell out that much cash for their s...

The game was originally in development for both systems until MS secured rights. If the code was well enough along, a later multi-platform release could make sense (this has been flying around in many credible sources). I think it could be conceivable that they would probably wait a year or so though and try to up the PS3's install base before releasing it; timed exclusives usually aren't in the order of weeks.

I'd just actually like to see some actual confirmed exclusivity on these titles. It's like Haze, it only says "PlayStation 3" on the official website, but we know that it's currently, at most, a timed-exclusive.

Until I hear the word from the horse's mouth (i.e. Square-Enix saying that FFXIII is going to be PS3 exclusive and not timed) then I take all of this as idle speculation.

These 'bogus speculation exclusivity news' articles are filling up this si...

Something that Capcom has reemphasized over and over again in the past year. If the source denies exclusivity allegations I don't understand how this rumour belongs anywhere other than the trash bin.

The last thing I heard was that FFXIII was still in negotiations over exclusivity to the PS3. Claiming that you 'need' the PS3 to do the graphics is pretty wishy-washy at the moment considering that even PSM (A good PlayStation mag) has said that there's currently nothing on PS3 that's out of the Xbox 360's league (Gears of War is truly spectacular).

I'm not saying that I don't believe that the game won't be exclusive, but this is all coming down to dollars and cents people and...

Aren't they like the 'king of consoles' that will outsell the 360 by the end of 2007, etc, etc, etc?

Shouldn't we stop fanboying consoles and just appreciate them for the games that they do actually provide?

I've played a few of them and enjoyed the societal aspect for a bit... but the lack of deep story and engaging quests gets old fast. I'm just scared that the old school epics are going to disappear... Here's to holding out for Fallout 3!!!!

There's a lot more to the current console race than a few key titles...

If the Wii keeps it overly simple, they're going to quickly slide right back into where the GameCube was. The 'casual' market they're courting is finicky and unpredictable, how will they be able to market blockbuster games to people who don't really care (look at the sales of Twilight Princess).

Sony just needs to stop screwing up on every single front. They've also gotta get some serious ex...

No one has any idea what Uncharted will be like. Actually, most non-hardcore gamers have never heard of it so I don't see it moving systems. Instead of talking about what SIXAXIS is going to do, show it to gamers now!

Maybe the reason third-party developers aren't so up on the PS3 is simply because they're not happy with what Sony's done with it? How many studios/developers have to go 'Sony didn't listen and isn't providing adequate support' before people decide that it's time to actually fix the source of the problem?

I'm glad the PS3 isn't selling, maybe it'll force Sony to get their act together and fix the darned system and dev support.

If they ever do become useful. I'm sorry but I find Wii games difficult to control. It's one thing to say "Hey let's try something new!", but analog sticks are FAR more sensitive. And what would be the point of throwing in some stupid 'shake the controller' gimmick like NG: Sigma and Resistance???

With the exception of a few sites, there's a lot of concern that Lair and Warhawk will be tougher-than-necessary to control (because tilting the controller gives no feedback...

All of the previous Final Fantasies that were rushed (FFVIII, FFIX, FFX-2) weren't as good as the one's that took time (FFVII, FFXII)! Waiting is fine if the game is awesome!

Geeze, PS3 should have just released Oblivion... 100% AAA baby!

And all Sony had to do was sacrifice their humongous lead in the videogame sector. More money to be made on winning the format war. Unfortunately, it's all the PS3 owners who lose out with loss of exclusives and crappy ports. As a gamer, I'm not cheering Sony on (even if I do personally believe that Blu-ray is superior).

But you DO get more with Xbox Live, that's a given. It's the one thing that Microsoft has really pushed further than the other console manufacturers. At the moment, the PlayStation Network is in its infancy and may become better; however, as it stands, it's no rival for the features included in Xbox Live. The cost of a decent Bluetooth wireless headset is the equivalent of TWO YEARS of Xbox Live... but my 360 included a headset in the box... oh and pretty much all games support voice chat. ...

I just get the impression that there really are a lot of non-gamers who've got Wii's. I know people with Wii's, but none of my gamer friends have it (yet).

The Wii may trump all, but I certainly hope not, I lived through the months between interesting releases on the GameCube... And I do really like what Sony (in the past) and MS (now) bring to the table. To many WWII shooters, but just enough solid action games and RPGs.

If console sales stay low then developers get skittish. What happens when Squenix realizes that they've blown 20 million dollars on FFXIII only to sell it to a console with a small installed user base? They go multiplatform in order to recoup expenses is what they do.

This could create a snowball because less exclusives means less sales, which means less exclusives, and so on.

Last I heard, Squenix hadn't yet confirmed PS3 exclusivity on FFXIII (they're still in ...
