Regardless, piss poor public relations on Nintendo's part or that have backtracked heavily on their previous announced policy.
Dude....it is Nintendo's responsibility to provide correct and clear information to news outlets and its customers. In this case, Nintendo simply did not do that.
"Blame the media"
Bullshit. Blame Nintendo.
@WANNAGETHIGH
I don't think it is a stretch to say that Shadow of TR would have sold a hell of a lot more if Spider-man wasn't on shelf next to it. Uncharted has always outsold TR. That doesn't make TR a bad game or a game people don't want to play. It just was never going to beat Spider-man and is actually suffering in sales because Spider-man's huge shadow. (damn right I intended that pun :-) )
From what I have heard, AC Odyssey is a kick ass game. if it reviews as well as I think it will then it will sell crazy numbers.
Exactly. It looks pretty obvious that there definitely a huge gap in there somewhere unless the NBA is a lot bigger deal in the UK than I realize. NBA 2K19 coming in at number of three the week Spider-man released is a bit telling I think. So until we get some actual numbers from publishers, no way to come to much of any conclusion.
Sounds great, but I'm not sure letting Compulsion Games have too much independence is such a great idea. Those guys need some help.
Last year, GWG had the better selection of games vs PS+ for the most part, but two things happened. 1) PS+ price increase which in turn led to much better free games. 2) Game Pass. It doesn't make sense for Microsoft to put up top notch games for free at the same time they are trying to sell a subscription service. Microsoft should just kill GWG and focus on getting more great games on Game Pass, imo.
"sensible thinking & sentiment only seems to be applied to certain games and/or companies around here"
Have you been on an island the last month or so? What did Spider-man have thrown at it before the first review even came out? Let's see. It was "too short" because a 20 hour campaign isn't long enough. It was graphically downgraded because a puddle of water was moved. And then the controversy over the costume not being shiny anymore.....
Seriously. After years and years of average to ok games from Activision, we finally get a Spider-man game to be excited about. Insomniac and Sony execute it brilliantly. And personally, I don't give a damn about borrowing mechanics from other games (cuz every game does it) as long as it is makes the game great. Spider-man is a great game.
The writing was on the wall.
(sorry....had to)
Problem is Spiderman released.
Loving this game.
Exactly!
Hell yeah. Maybe some Windows gaming news as well.
I think jaymacx is right. The franchise never found any consistency in the west. The games bounced all over the place from day one as Dragon Warrior for NES and then it was on PS and PS2, years after the fact. And then it was on DS and just stopped coming to anything not Nintendo except for the MMO. It has been an absolute mess.
And SE is scratching their heads trying to figure out why XI isn't selling? lol
lol....no, you are the one who started disagreeing with someone who expressed how much they loved God of War. I asked you questions and brought up points you REALLY did not want to answer. But seriously, I really have better things to do than discuss what you saw of GoW on youtube. Thanks tho.
Great time to stop this. I know you will keep going and going and going like you did last time when you supposedly "didn't want to", but any conversation with you wi...
@Jinger
Yeah......you Xbox fans definitely seem to cry a lot when you are challenged. That is certain. Harassed? lol.....you can just put your tissue box away stop trying to make a #metoo moment out of it. That conversation had next to nothing about God of War in it. You and a few other Xbox fanboys jumped into the convo yapping that same tired Xbox fanboy line about "emotional narratives" and you got called on it. Of course, you couldn't back up a word ...
I don't think there is any intent to have an "interconnected universe in the games industry" for Marvel IP. Like you say, it isn't practical. There isn't one company that would be able to handle all that and actually deliver competent products. It would be a fantasy to think multiple publishers could interact with each other to pull this off.
No, I think the MGU will be a series of games in the Marvel Universe, unrelated and disconnected to each o...
"The reason we have the MCU is to see the various characters interact with one another on the big screen. "
Wait....why are you assuming that is what Marvel gaming will be going forward? No one has said that is going to be the case. I don't think it is possible to approach the MGU the way movies did the MCU.
"The only difference here is that people assumed there was no grace period. "
"Save data stored with Save Data Cloud cannot be kept outside of the duration of your Nintendo Switch Online membership"
So the public is supposed to gleam from that statement that there is a grace period for retrieving save data? lol.....are you serious?
