Why are people obsessed with this game's sales in particular?
Square Enix just can't take a break. Maybe it's time to focus on their core games before they go under.
They have From Software which is enough.
Only a handful of publishers are pro-mods like Bethesda, CDPR, and Larian; the rest either don't care like Sony or anti-mods like Capcom and the extreme being Nintendo-level of BS.
The single-player market is shrinking as time goes on. Adults who buy games regularly are caught up in the cost of living crisis where they need to save money, spend more time working, or have become parents. The younger generations aren't interested in anything that isn't social or fuel their addiction to instant gratification.
The animations look more like Mirage. Same stiff, sometimes ridiculous, movements and transitions. Perhaps because they're showing real-time cutscenes instead of rendered footage. It's as if the sound director asked the VA to try her hardest not to sound like a woman. Or she's inexperienced.
Yeah, gave me Forspoken vibes.
Where are the bangers of this generation from PlayStation Studios?
Finally a live-service game that deserves it.

Agreed. But big suits fighting with creative heads is nothing unheard of in this industry (or any industry for that matter).
The perfect gameplay for journalists.
Don't take Elon's words to heart; he has an axe to grind. He is developing brain chips and implants, way worse than any of this AI shiz.
Great. This guy wants more PC ports. No point in releasing games 2-4 years later at full price after the FOMO and hype are all gone.
I hope it's a single player game with Anthem's gameplay mechanics.
Halo > whatever on Dreamcast
I find the claim throughout this article that good gameplay is the only reason for success ridiculous. How many copies has Rise of the Ronin sold?
Duke Nukem Forever is a masterpiece because it took 14 years to develop.
Hopefully, you don't let BG3's success get to your head and become CDPR 2.0.
Inflation, cost of living, work-life time, layoffs, backlog, $70/£70/€80/CA$100/AU$120 , is it really surprising?
