Data from Circana already shows the game debuted at number 5. We shall see if it continues the momentum in the soon-to-be-released April chart.
Agreed. 99% of indie is metroidvania, rogue-lites and visual novels.
It works for EA since it drives more people to try the game and get trapped in the casin... Ultimate Team cards.
Never heard of this game until someone mentioned it here last year. Played it and it basically represents most games from the PS3/Xbox360 era—good graphics, amazing physics, and extremely fun gameplay (time powers rock), but barely any story, weird pacing, and at least one annoying AF level. I finished Prototype last week and the same applies, except Strike Teams. Fuck Strike Teams.
Any game I'm interested in that uses a turn-based combat system gets the YouTube treatment. I tried playing turn-based many times before and I hate it with every atom of my being.
One example: regular mobs that you could have one-punched and moved on already take ages as everyone reaches their place, uses their attacks one-by-one then you get your turn and still miss with 99% so-called accuracy, yeah, I ain't sitting through all that shiz.
And then people wonder why companies keep making sequels instead of taking risks on new IPs...
Control didn't sell a few millions on Steam. Calm down.
What are the chances? Bethesda can't even get a next-gen update right.
*Bethesda disliked that*
In one of those tweet exchanges, someone already pointed out with an image that the outfit below this bunny one is straight up a bikini. Ironically, the ones constantly saying woke people are crying snowflakes, when they complain about something, are being exactly that right now.
It looks great and completely changes how characters and environments look, but obviously tanks performance.
The ones with low end hardware don't buy or play the latest AAA games. Don't let Steam Hardware Survey (which isn't verifiable data to begin with) convince you otherwise. It'd be relevant if Steam associated which hardware is playing which games or even genres.
Ironically, Helldivers 2 is the type of game to make Xbox fans spend money on the platform.
Does Elden Ring waste your time with cutscenes of characters yapping at each other? Didn't think so.
Indie games don't even get one tenth of the views AAA games get. @Profchaos isn't wrong.
- Fallout 4's story, characters, dialogue, and quests. They even managed to make the Vaults boring.
- Fallout 76 is Fallout 4 online. Same crap.
- Starfield doubled down on the crappiness of all these aspects despite being a new IP.
People bought and liked all of these games, which sends the message that we want more of this. I don't know about you, but I don't like being treated as a child and my intelligence insulted by developers.
Whatever they do, Fallout 5 is guaranteed to be dogsh*t.
I know we like to blame publishers for everything, but developers also contribute to the problem. I think current Game development can be summarised in this video:

While I don't care about others paying to play early, I hate the bombardment of spoilers on YouTube that happens because of it.
Reasons to buy Nvidia RTX 4000 Series:
- Supports all upscaling techs including DLSS 3.5 (which is simply better in every aspect), FSR3, and XeSS so you never miss out regardless of which one the devs choose to implement
- Frame generation that just works
- Reflex that reduces latency and doesn't get you banned as a bonus
- Ray Tracing performance (and Path Tracing for the brave, adventurous souls)
- Very efficient in power consumption
