What is this one? A port of NMH1, or NMH2?
Still no DW:Gundam DLC? Christ. Delayed again. And I (and most of my fellow Gundam fans who bought that mediocre game) are already long past the point of caring. Way to fail at DLC, Bandai!
And I am quite curious about this Dragon Age II DLC. I can't recall ever seeing much about it, aside from a brief interview when it was announced promising that it would be expansive, and address all of the (many) complaints consumers had about the vanilla game.
I'm surprised Tael and Tatl aren't on that list. They would have made a good #1, being directly responsible for all the crap in Majora's Mask.
And the #1 the guy did pick... awful. Didn't think that one through at all. Yeah, Link and Zelda helped Gannon into the Sacred Realm... but what would have happened if they had done nothing? What, ya' think Gannondorf would have given up and gone home?
No. He would have killed off all of the Gorons ...
...With so many "inspirations" I fear the final game will be rather uninspired.
Obviously.
Everyone knows the real reason was pixie sticks.
Right, but will Mario Kart 3DS offer anything new? Anything that you can't get from Mario Kart Wii?
Not really. It is just "more of the same," so to speak. The same thing with Super Mario 3DS, to a lesser degree. While I have no doubt both games will be fun, they're not exactly new and exciting.
Awful title. "Things that suck about modern gaming" would be more appropriate.
It's also fairly spartan. Better suited for a blog post than an actual article.
But, still, it's better than most of the shit that gets posted on N4G, so I'll make it a point to remember gamepodunk.com as a site that's maybe not entirely full of hitbaiting shit, so consider this an endorsement.
I'm on the fence. But I'll probably end up buying it since it's really the only "original" 3DS game coming this year.
I don't really get why everyone expects it to be so good. It's a pretty radical departure from the first game. I'm not sure if there's a reason for these expectations, or just typical fanboy "everything Nintendo does is perfect" foolishness.
Hah. Sounds nice.
Shogun II was nice, but it was basically an oldschool mod for the ETW/NTW engine, and didn't quite have the charm of older TW games, or more specifically, the first Shogun.
Here's hoping these guys at least have the balls to give us a Korean Invasion expansion.
I've enjoyed stealth in non-stealth games. Loved the segments in Uncharted, and Assassin's creed.
I've hated it in Metal Gear.
Well, no. I just hated the Metal Gear games in general.
I loved the game mechanics of MGS4, but hated the awful, long-winded narrative. the ratio of game to crappy cutscene made it unplayable for me.
The only other game I tried was Guns of the Patriots. Again, I liked the stealth based com...
Things Nintendo needs to do for the WiiU:
1. Third Party Support (We'll see)
2. Backwards Compatibility (already failed)
3. Better digital distribution (pricing, sales, etc.)
4. Digital content tied to users, NOT hardware
5. Price: it's gonna have to be cheap given the fact that it's got such simple hardware.
And, obviously, this is just my opinion. If you didn't realize that, you are a fucking moron.
Yeah, Nintendo is easily the worst of the big three when it comes to... well, a whole lot of things.
But don't say that here! The fragile minds of the average Nintendo fanboys cannot handle criticism!
Very true.
Most gamers can't see past the slick presentation.
Either that or the people who love Heavy Rain just have really, really low standards. Kind of funny how all of the people disagreeing with you are saying crap like, "I love the game," or, "It was a good game," without addressing the chief complaint--poor writing.
Look, guys, I love my share of stuff with shit writing... but a narrative-based game (that's...
Dragon Age: Origins had a host of problems: and while the graphics and animations (particularly spell effects) were quite poor (it's a shame when a decade-old Infinity Engine game looks better)... they were the LEAST of DA:O's problems.
At all? After the first game, I'm finding it difficult to sustain any interest or curiosity in the sequel. Especially if they're sandwiching in-between the films again.
Honestly, I'd care a lot more if, say, they were to dive all the way in, and use the TFU series to completely re-write the original trilogy. It would certainly be more interesting (to me) than a story stuck in the cracks and shadows of continuity.
I cringe just thinking of the children. Ulgh. It didn't help that Yakuza 3 came out a few weeks later, with much better realized child-characters. The contrast was... painful.
Also: Heavy Rain isn't really doing anything new with the medium. QTEs have been for... more than a decade, I think. I remember 'em in the first Dark Cloud. And "interactive fiction" is one of the very oldest genres out there. The Japanese have been pumping out visual novels and br...
Heavy Rain suffers from the same problem as Halo, and to a lesser extent Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X--too many new players. People played Halo, and it was their first decent FPS, so they thought it was zomg-awesome. The same thing with FFVII or FFX. Because it was their first good experience with a certain kind of game, they assumed they were playing the pinnacle of that genre.
It's even worse with interactive fiction, as most games of that vein are very low-pro...
I guess it does its job in that I am now slightly more interested in Singularity than I was before reading (but when you're at zero, there's nowhere to go but up!) but at the same time I'm irked to see (again) so crude an understanding of time dilation.
Of the off-chance the article writer reads these comments, I'll simply say that the article is way, way, way too unfocused. Brevity is your friend: it should take fewer than three paragraphs to reach a point. P...
That's easy.
1. Yakuza Kenzan
2. Gundam Senki: Record UC 0079
3. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva
The best games of the past few years... all stuck in Japan.
THIS.
I love paying extra for overnight shipping, and getting a book in a flimsy paper envelope with a big ol' CREASE down the center.
Or small items in large boxes, that look like they've been beaten with metal bats.
Amazon REALLY sucks.
Regarding these common Wii complaints... Of all the things to complain about with the 3DS, the hardware itself is at the bottom of my list. It's got a loose hinge, but so did the...
