I can only assume you haven't been paying attention.
The Playstation Network has seen plenty of upper-envelope PS1 titles, as well as upper-tier PS2 (HD ports) and PS3 titles. As for software emulation, how easily a game can be emulated has a lot less to do with how much it "taxes" the system than you think. Most of the upper-tier PS2 games can be emulated flawlessly on a PC--it's typically the older, or poorly optimized games that have trouble.
True. Vita is aimed mostly at core gamers and FPS casuals, whereas 3DS is aimed mostly at Nintendo-loyalists and Mario casuals.
The only overlap is with the largest demographic in the market--people who don't know what the **** they want.
Not quite. Controls are a bit floaty (okay, a little more than a bit) and the game-world, while appropriately massive, is a bit barren/dead.
It's a great, classic game--but don't let that blind you to its faults.
Gotta love how a few hours of the narrative (the in-game story) equals 5 days of in-game time.
But, yeah, other than the completely bullshit calendar system it's a pretty nice game. Love that soundtrack.
/v/-quality trolling at its finest.
Godmars never said a damned thing about whether or not he considered it a good thing or a bad thing. READING COMPREHENSION--get with it!
As for how hard it is to find a copy of Ico/Godhand/Odinsphere...? Are you insane? You can find all three of those games (in fact, virtually EVERY game in the PS2's library) on ebay for about $2.
Maybe not insane--maybe just ****ing stupid.
^--Maybe. Doesn't change the fact that you can still play your old Xbox games on a 360, but Sony wants to make you buy PS2 games twice.
Average HD port is $20, average PS1 games is $6, so odds are $12 or so USD.
Still pretty steep considering that this is confirmation of Sony having 100% effective PS2 software emulation (something that has been rumored for years)--so, basically, it's yet another giant, **** YOU to their consumers.
Choice system? What?
And if boss fights being outsourced and thus clashing heavily with the main stealth gameplay mechanics are the reason why you didn't buy the game, I can only take it you never buy any stealth games, because this is one of those brain-dead mistakes EVERY stealth game developer does--over and over again.
Holy carp! That's a lot of awesome stuff!
I'm gettin:
Chrono Trigger
Maximo: Ghost to Glory
God Hand
GrimGrimoire
Odin Sphere
And maybe RE5 if it's on sale. I had no bloody idea ports of Maximo, GrimGrimoire or Odin Sphere were even being planned! Awesome!
Here's hoping we get some more unexpected PS2 games--some of the lost hits from the latter years of the PS2 era, like Steambot Chroni...
And here I thought I was being a tiny bit clever, but the point would appear to have sailed right over at least five heads.
I said, "Jesus Christ, people, don't approve this kind of garbage."
The intentional spelling errors very clearly referencing the atrocious quality of the article--which is riddled with errors and inaccuracies. Not to mention it's a hitbaiting summary of someone ELSE's article.
I just want a new light-source. Like a block I can use to keep enemies away that doesn't look like ass, and/or a block that shoots out a "beam" of light that's crazy-strong so I can make an awesome looking lighthouse at night.
Well, to be fair, "Minecraft" and "Scrolls" are about the least inspired titles out there.
No, we don't NEED it. At all. Doesn't everyone has a cell phone by now? Use that.
Hell, we don't even need CHAT, period. Chat would only be useful in some theoretical game where one player acted as a "commander" and could set down waypoints/objectives/routes on the map. When everyone is just running and gunning it's just pointless chatter--which is often incomprehensible due to the cheap-ass microphones being used + mumbling + background noise.
Jisus kris, peeple, dondt aprove thiz cind uv garbaj.
That /seems/ like a valid point.
But they haven't shown any of the 1:1 stuff. All we have to go by are previews--and with gaming journalism, previews are notoriously unreliable. It's not like they could ONLY show off the 1:1 stuff at a trade show or conference. It would be simple enough to put it in an interview, dev diary, trailer, or something similar.
It just seems odd that we haven't seen Skyward Sword's single most touted feature even onc...
lol, no, those are GREAT prices. PS3 games are closer to 8 or 9000 yen--roughly $100 to import.
If the past is anything to go buy, those games will be selling for $30 to $40 USD stateside--so, basically, THE STATUS QUO IS MAINTAINED.
Well, other aside from the whole "proprietary memory cards" and "no onboard memory" BS with the Vita.
Everyone thinks they can get rich posting hitbaiting crap from their websites on N4G. It's like they don't realize that real jobs tend to pay better for less work, without that whole "being an insufferable twat" thing.
And to think people are arguing about whether or not the biggest game of the year will be Dark Souls or Skyrim.
I've been waiting for this game since I was 5 years old! Zelda with 1:1 swordplay? Who could resist?
And I didn't get a whole lot out of that video. Miyamoto wasn't actually playing the game at all... he was just gesturing. It was a pre-made video. Could they be trying to hide controller lag? Could it really be more like 1:4 movement? Wh...
Well, they might be rare... but they're not valuable. You can find any--and I mean ~any~--PS2 game on ebay for less than $15 USD. There are enough games out there, even the relatively rare ones like NIS titles, that the value is pretty low.
