It is (very) poorly written, but all of the criticisms are very valid. It's an atrocious port of a great game.
@SurfCfl:
Read my post. Please. Reading comprehension matters, otherwise you'll do something foolish like make a post like the one you just did.
Fun fact: "Didn't" is a contraction that means "did NOT."
Emphasis on the "NOT."
My point was that Ubisoft did NOT do a conservative historical narrative and INSTEAD introduced the science fiction elements BECAUSE they thought that kind of framin...
How silly, if Nintendo bothered to listen to its consumers their past half-dozen or so consoles would all loot very different.
It's really not. All of the Assassins Creed games have always been about the respective assassins in the past. That's why 99% of your time is spent as Ezio, Connor or Atlair. Did you somehow miss that stuff?
The science-fiction element is mostly superfluous and incorporated in the game largely because Ubisoft didn't trust a more conservative historical narrative to be able to sustain the interest of the average gamer.
Wow, what a douchebag comment.
Morons.
The only part of a review that matters is the text, but you know fanboys: barely literate lackwits with deep-seated insecurities and Tourettes.
Because, if there's one thing every gamer can agree on, it's that EA's vision of the future is the absolute best possible one.
Delayed to the magical land of TBA.
@GamerChick: Simply "disagreeing" isn't productive to anything. If you agree with something, there's nothing you necessarily need to say. But if you disagree with something, you have a point you need to argue.
And if you don't argue your point, maybe you can't argue you point, and if you can't argue your point, you should probably rethink your position. Just clicking "disagree" instead of participating in a discussion is the equivalent ...
Massive step back?
Not even close.
At worst, Skyward Sword was several small steps back (constant tutorializing and segmented world design) with a few really big steps forward (stronger narrative focus, strong supporting cast, bigger role for Zelda, etc.).
Perspective alters storytelling in every medium. What is this, a 6th grade English class?
None of the games--the main games, at least--have EVER referred to Mario's occupation.
As for "He wouldn't be moving through pipes if he wasn't a plumber."
I'm not even going to dignify that with a response.
So either no one thinks there's a consensus... or there are three people out there stupid enough to think Nintendo's development process is open and receptive to fan input?
This is why the disagree buttons are counter-productive. Use your words, people. You're adults, not simpering infants.
Gee, maybe that's because my comment wasn't a joke.
If you're too goddamn lazy to type two words into google, you're clearly too stupid to live.
Lame is the wrong word.
"Ignorant" conveys the proper meaning, though perhaps "shamelessly lazy" might be a better fit.
Ha. Ha. Ha.
That's not going to happen.
As I understand it, this "mother company" stuff is a mistranslation--in Japan, Atlus is just the brand-name. The actual company name is Index. So when you hear Index is in trouble, and probably culpable, what that means is that ATLUS, itself, is in trouble.
So, really, there are two possible outcomes: they're bought out by a major publisher, or they dissolve into the ether and their franchises crumble to dust.
3.1 Addendum: Mario is not a plumber, the crappy American television show does not in any way retcon established Mario canon.
That's not a "first person mode," it's just a generic animation that plays when you release a pokemon. This way they don't overtax the system by loading up the full character model & animations along with all his/her costumes and acessories along with the pokemon models & animations.
Christ, people were saying the same thing about Fire Emblem. "Oh, look! This screen can be construed as a first-person perspective! This must mean it'll hav...
Isn't there a rumor going around that they're working on an MMO?
With that in the air, I can't say I'm terribly interested.
Reaction to a new DBZ game: Eh? So what?
Reaction to a new Artdink game: OMFG YES! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!
Reaction to an Artdink DBZ game: mixed.
