"They rushed it out the door, and they were surprised by how much it cost to develop HD-resolution games."
Which is strange, because the rising costs of game development have been pretty common knowledge for the last decade or so... and they could have delayed the WiiU six months or so in order to launch with a stronger line-up.
Nintendo was stooooooooooooooooooooopid.
I think even the most ardent fanboys agree that the WiiU's defining software line-up really hasn't been released yet.
I don't think anyone was really expecting the WiiU to sell well without something like Wii Fit or Mario Kart to stimulate the market. And if they were, they were foolishly foolish fools.
Seems to me like the Console Race is ready to call right now. Oh, not that Sony/Microsoft/Xbox nonsense, but it seems like we have a pretty firm grasp on how the mobile/console/PC market is going to evolve in the few years.
List is missing quite a bit.
The upcoming DLC I'm looking forward to this month, for example: Dynasty Warriors 8 and Shin Megami Tensei IV.
And I just read an article about Project Diva F having pre-order DLC and an august 29 release date.
Outgrown the series?
I'd take any of their Jak games over ANYTHING they've done since.
I mean, hell, Amy Hennig still hasn't even equalled the work she did back for Crystal Dynamics.
I doubt it.
Naughty Dog seems to have completely forgotten how to craft open-levels or interesting platforming.
The last thing I want to see is a Jak 4 with linear, impossible-to-fail platforming segment, a proliferation of QTEs, and *shudder* cover-based shooting.
No. It's a bad game based on an equally bad TV show.
As bad as the game industry is, as bad as game journalism is... I think we can all agree that the film industry, music industry, and "entertainment" journalists are all much, much worse.
By many, many factors.
*shrug*
So long as he's making new games, I don't really care what they are. IPs or not, so long as he's still in the game.
The only developers I actively keep an eye on are CD Projekts, Obsidian and and Shu Takumi.
Watch TotalBiscuit's "WTF is..." of it.
I was vaguely interested in the game, but the actual platforming mechanics look terrible.
...Incomplete list?
Last I heard, the first DLC for Dynasty Warriors 8 was confirmed for tomorrow's update (NA).
Well....
You convinced me.
Spent some of my $30 credit I was saving for Ace Attorney on this. Hope it's as cool and quirky as it seems.
But, seriously now, ENOUGH WITH THE ALL CAPS!
Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.
Was Wind Waker going to get a "limited release" type thing for first print-run copies w/ an artbook, or am I confusing it with FFX?
I can see why. Doesn't seem like it'd work too well with just one analog stick. At best, you'd move with the analog and throw pikmin w/ the stylus... but that would mean the game would have to be on the bottom screen, so no 3D gameplay effects....
I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of Pikmin spin-off game on the 3DS, though. How about a Pikmin puzzle-platformer?
"I've never played a Pikmin game so P3 isn't something I'm interested in."
So you know you're not interested in it due to... clairvoyance?
I'd say the two Ratchet & Clank Future games are their best work. Beyond that, the third R&C game on PS2, then the first. Everything else is mediocre at best.
There a release window yet?
Even though it's probably going to be current-gen, I'm really hoping for next-gen. Ace Combat is the -only- game I feel would really benefit from increased photo-realistic graphics.
LMFAO at the silly TLOU fanboys.
Did I mention The Last of Us?
Nope.
Didn't even reference it.
Getting a little too defensive over a fairly mediocre game, are we? Yikes.
