Imagine buying a blu-ray, and then being forced to watch a bunch of ****ty trailers for ****ty movies and being unable to skip them due to the menu commands of your remote being locked out.
Oh, wait--that's totally what they're doing now.
Huh. Kinda got my hands full with the 3DS this summer, but still... $30 is tempting.
But with my luck, by the time I get around to playing it, the game'll be $15. Hell, I haven't even gotten to P4G yet.
I hope they do something cool.
But I've been following E3 for a long time, and I feel like the news is never terribly interesting.
At this point, all I'm really hoping for is news of DQ7 3D, and maybe some more info on WiiU stuff--more VC stuff, unified account system, price drop, things like that.
With the next-generation circle-jerk revving up all over again, though, I think we're less likely than ever before to see something co...
****ing HATE Blighttown. Every single thing about it is annoying. The enemies, the level design, the poison, the mud, the framerate dips.
I spent most of today playing Donkey Kong and Oracle of the Ages, due to the fact that pretty much everywhere in town is submerged under several feet of floodwater.
That would be really cool.
I'd also add to that: no forced combat segments. Mirror's Edge was a fantastic parkour-style platformer, but the combat was terrible.
And... maybe an optional third-person view? Or at the very least, user-adjustable FOV settings.
Let's see... my list for this summer includes:
Tales of Xilia
Shin Megami Tensei IV
Wasteland 2
And... that's it.
Probably looking forward to Wasteland 2 the most, as I already know pretty much what I'll be getting with the other two titles.
And, of course, I've still gotta play the hell out of the Zelda Oracle games and Donkey Kong on my 3DS, and should probably grab that Soul Sacrifice game s...
WeAreLegion... everyone needs more WiiU games.
I really hope they announce a bunch of titles this summer, E3 or not. I really want to get a Wii U, but can't justify the cost at the moment due to lack of games.
Reasons to buy a Vita: it's the best gaming hardware ever made.
Reasons not to buy a Vita: game releases are waaaaaaaaay too slow.
Arguably, even the first game had some fanservice elements.
Not that it's a bad thing. Ace Attorney is successful in part because it does not and never has taken itself very seriously.
Er... controlling the camera manually via shoulder buttons or via another analog stick... these are both really crappy solutions to MonHan's chief problem.
The only thing MonHan4 needs is a decent lock-on mechanic.
A lot of people do.
But, for all its success, Nintendo has made a lot of mistakes and has (seemingly) failed to recognize or learn from those mistakes.
It's easy to look at the Wii and say, "don't worry, Nintendo will turn things around with the WiiU the same way they did with the 3DS!"
...But Nintendo really hasn't given any indication that they recognize the WiiU is faltering, and given their fairly poor handling of th...
Hm... interesting concept marred by mediocre execution, poor writing, and a painfully stupid ending? That's pretty indicative of this generation.
Fanservice: The Game.
I don't really care about hair-animation. So long as it moves somewhat in accord with gravity, I'm happy. (I was laughing out loud in Tomb Raider when all of Lara's hair was pointing straight up except for her ponytail in that one scene where she's suspended upside down).
Rather than physics, I'd rather see hair that... just doesn't look like ass. Bethesda, I'm talking about you right now.
But it has online play, doesn't it? That alone might make it worthwhile, or at least less mind-numbingly tedious.
Who cares how powerful the WiiU is? Hardware ain't its problem. No games is its problem.
@WhyWai88:
Xof was stating contradictory fanboy arguments... that's not a self-contradiction. Learn what words mean.
The "non fanboy" argument is pretty simple. Not having games is a bad thing. Not having b/c is a bad thing. In any circumstance on any platform.
Doesn't seem that far off to me.
Let me go and educate myself, then, to see which one of you is wrong.
According to The Internet, these are all of the upcoming Vita games in North America:
06/18 Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two
Jak and Daxter Collection
06/25 LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey
Muramasa Rebirth
08/06 Dragon's Crown
09/03 Atelier Meruru Plus: The Apprentice of Arland...
Even indirectly criticizing Nintendo is a bad idea on the Internet.
The fanboys, man, think of the fanboys!
...
Of course, keep in mind that Nintendo has been using the Directs to deliver some... pretty awesome news--as in actual game announcements. And actual game announcements seldom seem to come out of E3 anymore (yet every year, gamers 'round the world insist that THIS time will be different).
Hell, just a month or tw...
